Rebuff Reality VR Power Pack (and how to mount it to the FrankenQuest) and VR Shell for Oculus Quest

The VR Power for Oculus Quest Battery pack provides 3a of power (it charges while you play just fine) and puts out roughly the same power as the wall charger that came with the Oculus Quest.
The VR Shell is a simi-flexible clear protective shell that looks pretty sharp and will keep the fabric on your Quest looking good.

I am really wanting to modify my Quest with facial interfaces, battery packs, controller grips, shells, etc., but I’m not sure which mods are the best because there are so many brands making similar stuff. I’ve seen your reviews and I think you should make a video on the BEST mods you’ve bought. It’d be really helpful for me and other people torn on what to buy. Thanks!

THANK YOU SO MUCH!! I was so hesitant to buy the battery pack because I wasnt sure how I was going to attach it (although I still bought it and was going to figure it out..) but now I dont have to!! My battery pack should arrive tomorrow! Also whats the lil gadget attached to the right side with the power button on it?

Had the same problem you did with my VRShell. Seems like the hole they cut for the power button is too small or just doesn't fit right. Pretty sure I don't want to have to deal with a factory reset even though you made it sound pretty easy to recover all of your data. Had to take it off but the VRpower is a different story. Product works like a charm.

Hey ty I know you might have other video ideas planned but I think it would be great if you could make a tutorial on how to record or stream to KZfaq from the oculus quest widescreen with audio bc I know how to use the side quest streaming option but it looks zoomed in and when I stream you can’t rly see what I’m doing so it would really help if you could thx for ur time

What magnetic cables are you using? Some I am looking at appear to have a short connector that may have a depth issue with the shell (which I have based on your recommendation).

Hey loving the content 👍 you’ve helped me so much recently and I wanted to ask one quick question? what are the cheapest pc’s I could go for or laptops that you would recommend... to be able to use oculus link perfectly fine with games like bone works, Asgard’s wrath, gorn and many more... I originally got a quest because I wasn’t gonna go through the pc route but I think I’ve changed my mind now 😅

They're from VR cover. So just go into their website and order it. However, it is only for US unfortunately.

It does not unfortunately. But you can buy a Vive cosmos case and everything fits great!

Wouldn’t mounting a flat power bank to the very bottom of the frankenquest strap by your neck be a better counterweight and less stressful of it falling off?

that's what i'm wondering too. This looks cooler, but i wonder how this compares to using the power bank on the Deluxe Audio Strap. i'm guessing having the power bank at the bottom would be better?

So I have a question if you dont mind answering. I have a Anker PowerCore Lite 20000 which puts out 4.8A, yet my quest does not seem to let the battery go up, instead the power gradually goes down slower. Basically I'm wanting to know if this is a good powerbank or maybe its my chord thats connecting the quest to the battery pack. Any help would be appreicated. Thanks!

Each little light is 25% When all are lit up, it’s 100, when it’s dead there won’t be any

Okay, one of many questions. I have not been able to enjoy my Quest in awhile. I have not been unable to update my Quest also. Question: Do I have to download each update my Quest has missed, or can I get all the updates done by only doing the very latest update. I appreciate it. Thanks.

If you are manually updating your quest, all updates after version 12 are partial updates. You will have to install them one by one until you are up to date. At the time of this post, version 15 is the latest update.

I guess i have a sensitive head. After about 2 hours my head gets sore right where the battery rests. It's barely touching my head! Kind of disappointing. Maybe I can ad some foam or something. No one else seems to have this problem but me.

Noticed your frankenquest no longer has the velcro straps wrapped around the "arms" where the audio strap meets the actual Quest arms. Also your quest arms are red? Do tell.

It will not fit with the AMVR pad, haven't tried it with any other pads. You could probably do a little modding to get it to work though.

With the FrankenQuest you won't need a full 20oz to balance it though.

Tyco Tech that is true. Have yet to try the Frankenquest DAS but it looks like I holds the front weight a lot more securely. For the normal strap, personally, I need at least 500 grams to balance the front weight.

But the weight distribution and you have to DIY the mounting method. I am currently using a Anker powercore 20100 out it pushes onto my neck a bit.

So there had been a history of modders putting the DAS on headsets. The original modder called it franken [insert headset]. And slowly people have kept making them calling the m the frankenquest or frankengo or frankenquest 2 etc.

You need to slow down your hand movements, in every single video you look like you are in a rush to finish, just slow down, it is hard to keep up,, also less of you and more of the products, put a camera above you.
