Came across your video by accident, because my wife and I are shopping for this truck. Also looking at the Ford F150 3.5L ecoBoost with the hybrid feature. I love taking things apart, so the content of your video is totally engrossing to me, especially so because this is one of the trucks I am considering. Very cool: I plan on watching the entire series.

The key not detected issue is likely due to one of the keyless go systems antennas being disconnected, the system has a number of antennas in the cab, the side ones are generally either on the b pillar or sometimes they are on the doors.

Push the button with your key - probably because the immobilizer chip is inside - right under the housing.

Be carful with the wiring harness, FCA has been having issues with how they are installed on the assembly line. I’m serious. There’s a TSB ( Technical Service Bulletin) on it. Some of the wires inside the wiring harness are breaking while being installed.

The battery in the key might be bad. That is usually the reason for that.

Maybe it got wet? The transponder does not need a battery. Thats how early 2000s cars did it before keyless entry.

I think I would find a way to lift the bed off the frame from the bottom instead of the way you did it. Same with putting it back on, do it from the bottom. That way you don't have to let all the air out of the tires just to get it out of the way.

Key fob battery is low or it wasn't picking up the key so if you push the button with the key fob it'll start. The truck with put its self in park only if you have the door open and in a gear but it'll still start with the door open but I get what you are saying. Keep up the good work

Question. Did you have to send your air bag module in to get reset along with your seat belts???

That spare wheel is really a mystery. When was yours built? Ours was made march of 2018. Very very early in the production. Maybe since yours seems to be a lot newer than ours they might have changed the spare for some reason? I don’t see why though because the 4th generation was a 5 lug and the new 5th Gen is a 6 lug so its not a carry over part. So why would they make a new steel rim just to add a aluminum one later? Maybe the limited trims have that wheel 🤷🏼‍♂️. Ours is a mid level Laramie.

I know that if the battery in your key fob is dead.Then you can put the fob against the switch to start the truck.

Is that deflector electronic under the front bumper? I have a 2019 and never noticed it.

ClawBoss yes it has a electric motor attached to it. I’m guessing it goes down at a certain speed to help with fuel efficiency.

Rush-in Garage Well damn I hit a raccoon and mine broke, now I have a check engine light to “replace active shutter”. Wonder if it’s related 🤷🏻‍♂️

ClawBoss as far as I know the active shutter is the fins in front of the radiator that open and close.

The truck battery is almost dead, that's why you had to start the truck with the fob.

As a project I can see the joy in doing it just for the challenge , but for actual profit cannot see much out of it when its finished, labour & parts are going to flaw you.

I can't believe they went to six lug wheels on the 2019 RAM 1500s. I guess its a good thing in some ways, but I was looking to buy a set of the new Rebel wheels to put on my 2015 Sport then I realized this. :(

Am not a fan of that fuel pump placement. My 07 i can pull the bed and change the pump in less than 2hrs with no lift just a jack stand lol. It partially being under the body would suck!

It's a common term in the South. Who taught you how to structure a sentence and use proper punctuation? Your syntax and sentence structure should be perfect before you start criticizing others, and it DEFINITELY is not.
