Rebuilding a HEMI for boost! Eagle vs Pre-Eagle Parts Comparison

Well, I blew the pre-Eagle 5.7 hemi up in my 1967 Ford F100. Maybe too much boost, I don't know. In this video I tear down my blown pre-Eagle Hemi and compare it to the Eagle Hemi parts that I"m going to upgrade this motor with. Hopefully this turbo Hemi swapped Ford holds up this time!

I feel your pain brother. Guess what I've been doing these past few weeks of recording. Good ole tearing everything a part to fix weld leaks, oil leaks, vacuum leak and rewiring lol. Just found another leak for my oil return from the turbos to oil pan lol. Fun having one problem after another. At least I know she will start. But this year is done for events I'll be focused on a lot of upgrades with trans, suspension, and a roll cage. Oh I saw a commercial ad for the first time in this video. Congrats.

i welded my retainer sleeve on my 79 dodge w200 for the np435s was very common

It looks like the rings butted. How many miles were on the pre-eagle? And fuel/timing? I'm at 15psi/e85 on a stock eagle with 190k miles

Each one of your f100 videos makes me want to find a wrecked dakota RT or something and mopar swap my 68 F100 lol. Hey if I got a 360 mopar then when the purists ask what's under the hood I won't be lying when I say "just a 360" haha

I always here of guys measuring for custom length pushrods when doing the eagle head swap to pre eagle. Did using the eagle pushrods seem to be nice and normal?

I used the stock head gaskets. You need to measure when you swap the eagle heads on and use a thicker gasket to drop the compression. It all seemed good when I put it together.

I believe the eagle crank is a bit stronger but I'm sure it's OK!

So swapping the eagle heads and pistons keeps the compression down?

Yep, keeps it the same as an eagle motor

Can you put eagle head in spot of 03-08 motor with no problem?

Depends on if you want really high compression. Usually thicker head gaskets are used if you use non-Eagle pistons.

@builtbykane Pre-eagle cam and custom pushrods because the base circle is a different diameter between the eagle and pre-eagle cams
