When you run the engine, hook it up to the hose. And check your impeller cause the motor isn’t being cooled

I'm surprised you didn't fry the motor with the tal-tale not spitting a steady stream. I used to change the impeller pick-up every 2 to 4 years whether it needed it or not. If the engine has been dormant for a long period it goes without saying to change it because they dry up. My buddy is into 3D printing so he makes his own, which is cool. That motor finally spit up a stream like an old man with prostate issues which is still not enough but somehow you got lucky. Anyway good score on the boat and a good video to watch your progress. Now we can watch some fishing vids if thats in your wheelhouse.

Great video. Thanks for sharing. If I may offer a suggestion. Replace the water pump. I know eventually it started peeing, but it is cheap insurance and easy to replace.

Cool video. Neat to see the boat run again. Just fyi, at the end of your video you’re running wake in a no wake zone/manatee zone, you have to be completely idle speed there, making no wave/wake behind you at all. I saw the sign behind the boat as you came out of that mangrove canal. Hitting a manatee under water is like hitting a huge log, I’ve seen people do it. Not saying that’s what you hit, just wanted to give you the info. Not sure if you’re a frequent boater or not. Again, cool video, lots of boats to be salvaged down there.

Blow down the tale tale hole with compressed air it must b pumping water to cool effectively the water is as you probably know pumped from impeller then split to cool head of engine and exhaust port. Was surprised you did not have overheating going on. Real nice boat u got there. What a result 👍👍👍

Also tip out after every trip what remains in the fuel water separator just in case there is water in the tank. Do not use fuel with ethanol in it as this also causes tank condensation = water In fuel it’s worth the extra money all day long. 👍👍

It's not peeing through the cowling. Well, that worked its itself out. Apparently it the pee hole was just clocked with junk. Excellent!! Time to take the foot off and inspect the impeller and inspect the pee hole in the cowling for anything left behind that might clog it up a again . Sometimes a good shot of compressed air can clear tube very easily. Need to drain the fluids in the foot and refill just to make sure all is good in the bottom end. You can never be to careful with an outboard engine. Congrats! You have already got your money back in this buy. Damn! lucky. Need to go buys some lottery tickets, soon! You're on a roll!!

Nice video, you should really consider changing the fluid in your tilt and trim, Mine went out due to water in it and a rebuild cost me $1000 from 5-star Marine in Florida, and it failed 3 months later and they wouldn't honor their warranty so AVOID THEM AT ALL COST FOR ANYBODY READING THIS, so I had to buy a complete new tilt and trim all over some water that got in due to a bad seal on the electronic motor. Also, I enjoy the music, but it won't be long before they start hitting you with copyright strikes and you will have to mute those scenes. Keep em coming!

Bro...... do not crank the motor without water going to the lower unit, its a good way to over heat the motor. Also, those bunks you replaced are needed, for example when you back the boat off the trailer or putting it on it saves the bow from hitting the trailer. If the motor is not peeing you need to shut the motor off bc it can overheat. I know your excited about getting it running and going out on the water, but not having bilge pumps and other safety equipment for the boat is best for it and the safety of you and your passengers. Would hate for you to get into a bind and have to call for the coast guard for help.

The two-tale is blocked up with salt so a small Alan key up the hole to unblock it will make water come out

Motor HAS to be pissing !!!!!! Temp gauge won’t save you from what will happen if you don’t. Impeller kits are cheap; probably gunked up where it is housed; just follow the discharge line to find out how far back obstruction is.

See I would take out the thermo bc I had a Mercury force that would get hot as hell so I took it out and it’s fine

If your motor is not pumping shut it off, you can burn the motor up very important

Never start your motor without the hose hooked up! It takes 2 seconds to burn up an impeller! That’s a very weak stream of water and the impeller need replaced! Beautiful Boat!!

Idk how long it took to start peeing but it could’ve been because the thermostats hadn’t opened or dirt dobbers are bad about clogging the pee holes. We always stick a stick or something in it to keep that from happening

Good start with your video business and neat story about your rescued boat. Going on the water with girlfriend or wife was risky. No horn, no radio, no life jackets, no paddles what were you thinking? If the engine quits you drift until someone comes along and rescues you. Maybe display your safety gear on next video.
