Thanks for that, it got me going in the right direction, I've just renewed my door lock as it had packed up. A useful point to share. I wasn't able to remove the window motor from the bracket, I had nothing to get behind and undo the screws. i got around that by removing the windows mounting bracket and unclipping the regulator from the window. The benefit of doing it this way is all the motor and bracket can be moved sideways out of the way, giving much better access to the door lock assembly. The box of tricks that you wasn't sure what it was for has to be connected for everything in the door to work. I'm not sure what it does either, only that without it plugged in, I couldn't test the operation of the door lock.

Great video, I had to replace three of these on mine, Jaguar quotes silly price, bought new replacement from eBay for 75 all in and 2.5 hours to fit plus KZfaq watching time to work out how. Keep the vids coming

It's pretty easy, a bit fiddly, but if you're handy with small jobs like this then you'll be fine

Well done Ash just watched it, I have a little problem with my XFR today the tyre pressure system fault has come on if you have any ideas most appreciated

Sounds like you've got a sensor or detector down, mine is currently displaying the same message (white jag xf) because I've got my spare wheels on which don't have the sensors in them. Your best bet is to plug it into Jaguar's software (SDD) to find out exactly what's going on.

@@AshRowland mine is a white XFR to I was told to try tapping the red triangle on the screen 4 times for each wheel and apparently it goes away

Great video Ash. I have exactly the same situation on my Jaguar XF. I’ve been searching for a replacement lock mechanism (left-side rear door) but not sure about the correct part number as I couldn’t see it clearly in your video. I tried researching and part number C2Z31377 keeps coming up. However, this is for the lock actuator only. Any ideas? Thanks.

I hate to say it but the only way to make sure 100% you get the right part would be to pop the old one out and get the part number from it. Be aware that the part number for the actuator is separate from the other bits and pieces it's attached to. Having said that, you could try 7H5A-26413-AC which is for the model without keyless entry, it'll probably be different if you have keyless entry.

@@AshRowlandThank you for your prompt reply. I’ve been reading about Jaguar XF door lock replacement and some people replaced only the actuator. They took the other attachments from the old actuator and refitted them on the new actuator. I’ve been searching for the actuator and part number C2Z31377 keeps coming up, but not totally sure if it is the right one I need.

If you do that then I think there's a rivet you need to remove, I can't remember now.

@@AshRowland Yes, I read something about that, too. I’d rather purchase the complete set at a reasonable price, once I find out the exact part number(s). I’ll compare that with the lock actuator price. One other thing I noticed in your video, the window stayed up. If the window comes down, I’m not sure what to do then. Some of the posts on Jag forums mentioned lowering the window by a few inches before starting the work. I’ve never done anything like this before, so wish me luck!!!. Thanks.

@@ezeeart434 Good luck buddy... I left my window up the whole time, but I think you have to lower it a bit for the front doors
