Rebuilding A Wrecked 2021 Honda CBR1000RR-R SP (Part 3)

Күн бұрынFirst we start tackling the frame scratched and boy did that clean up nicely. Then we start working on the levers handlebars and case covers that all had damage. Ended up having to weld haha that was funny. I was hoping to ride this in the episode but had a issue with the brake lever. Hopefully in the next one!! Thanks for watching!

The best rebuild result comes White a “frame off” rebuild. Better finish in every detail , and a lot of small dents , dings and dongs due to the crash , comes to the light. A ride like this , shurely is worth it. You make a lot right in this rebuild , but at the same time i am left with a feeling of “ it could have been waaaaaay better “. Thats sad .

I agree on the welding. Once you learn it opens up so most So many capabilities. The same thing on owning a metal lathe and milling Machine. Those 3 tools you can fix or make anything. God bless keep up the great work.

when you use bondo you should grind all the paint off in the affected area and leave it rough textured it can fall out if not over time and next time just grind the entire head off the bolts and when you get the cover off use vise grips to turn the bolt off as long as there is an inch or so of bolt left to stick out should be no problem but it is looking good man the frame paint looks like a new frame great job

For case bolts like those just grind the heads off and pull the case cover off. Then use vise-grips on the remaining bolt sticking out to easily remove them.

Had the same problem with my 1980 Suzuki GSX1100ET here in the UK the front brake assemble had the small loose lever missing (it operates the brake light switch) I didn't even bother to look for one just made my own from a piece of suitably thick aluminium angle, its still there today

You missed putting the two little dabs of rtv/ Hondabond/ anaerobic sealant or whatever they call for where the halves of the case intersect under that gasket but other than that, great job! It sure is a pretty bike. I really like your beemer. 👍

Hi, I think you forget to transfer something from the old side case, that guide with an o-ring 11:45. I can be wrong but beeing an oil passage please check. 👍

Not my tip, but to avoid a line when painting fold the tape back on itself long ways with leaving a little adhesive exposed. Then use that as your tape edge. A small amount of paint will fly under and pretty much eliminates the harsh painting line like you got on the drivers side.

to remowe broken case bolts cut growe in the middle like for flathead screwdriver and use impact screwdriver , its a screwdriwer that you hit with regular hammer and the end spins on impact 🇲🇨

But don't the dealers over there sell the 400 cc 4 cyl version of the 1000 like Europe gets. What's weird the US 400 are a twin version they won't sell 400 cc 4 cyl here.little bikes sound just like the big ones Handel better just don't have the top end. Who cares.with a motor that sings to 16 grand.

For the front brake lever, i think you need to hit the cylindrical pin out from the old one it will separate the lever and the metal insert apart, then install the insert in the new lever. I did this in my R1 when i got aftermarket levers yours may be the same case

note that the two pieces are tight fit and you will need to hammer out the pin with force

Nice bike and very good job done. A little suggestion, after sanding and painting the frame try to give it a similar texture with moist sponge or smthng ;) Keep on good work !
