I understand this man's feelings. I'm going through a divorce I didn't want. We were together forty years. I stayed home and raised our two boys and my niece after my sister passed away unexpectedly. My husband just walked away and told me he had been cheating for many years. He burned through our savings and has left me with no income. I'm 64, have very little family and no friends. I had to move away from the town we lived in and into a small home in a town I never wanted to live in, but at least I have a roof over my head for now. I have no resume, poor health and I'm afraid. I hope and pray that everyone else going through this will be able to recreate a good, purposeful life. God bless you all.

Facing a divorce with my wife after a 30 year relationship. It was a "it's over, no contact" text. Been alone for 4 months now. Not drinking but having a hard time getting out. Work is still good, church is still good but don't have any make friends that have been through divorce let alone gray divorce. Worried about losing the farm litterly, and ending up homeless. Trying to figure out life again. Wish I never got married to begin with...

I am going through this now. She had me arrested three times and the Police slapped me with a current AVO which does not allow me to visit my house nor live at my Mothers house nearby. My limited exposure to my kids is now affecting them and I feel like an Uncle, not a Father. She also managed to recruit my 21 year old daughter against me, of which she assisted Police arrest me. I now live in a studio, still run my little business and plan for the future. I suggest exercise daily to keep your head straight. I would rather be in the gym not thinking about my kids than a prison cell. The system has it all against us. The woman you married, is no longer her. You have to let her go. For me, 29 years of marriage.

This video has sage advice! I appreciate that you really break it down into something conrete and actionable. This is do-able! I'm inspired. I took some notes during the video to help myself: 1. Change your habits. Break the inertia of the downhill slide with small wins. For example, exercising when you feel stressed, instead of eating poorly. Small wins help rebuild your confidence! 2. Write down what you DO want. If you're going through a hard time, don't stop! Consider what you want in the key areas of your life. For example, write down what you want in these 5 things: faith, family, finances, fitness, and fun. Understanding what you really want will change your thoughts, which will change your feelings, then we act on our feelings, and our actions will create our new reality. Vision/thoughts > feelings > actions > new reality! 3. Write your dreams/goals in 5 key areas of life. Develop a specific and written framework of your dreams/goals. See his template. Think where you want to be in 5 years, and work backwards. For example, you can then break it down into 1 year goals, then monthly, then weekly and daily action plans. We now have a plan of action!! 4. Plan your work and work your plan! Back it up with massive action.

He’s takes a while to say it but he’s spot on. 10,10,10 plan In the beginning it’s 10 hours, 10 days, 10 weeks. As you start to execute and recover you can stretch that out to 10 days, 10 weeks, 10 months. Also, a lot of people saw their relationships fall apart after the pandemic. You are not alone and you are not being punished. The sheep are being separated from the goats. Embrace it and grow and know that in its previous state your relationship was going to be a hindrance to your survival of longevity. The split was required for you to get back on track.

I was 60 when she left. She was younger (and NPD). Just about destroyed me but managed to plod through Hell. Great advice but It's difficult to pick up the pieces when retirement is just around the corner. I had to remortgage to pay her out and that together with maintenance payments has all but crushed me. My mortgage runs for eight years after retirement. I'd almost bought my house outright when I met her. What a bloody fool I was. I'm trying to keep it together for the kids. Keep up the good work. 👍🏻👍🏻

3 days ago I was living in my very nice house in a very nice area in the Southwest. Tonight after 3 days of driving, I’m laying on a blow up mattress in a sh*t apartment in a sh*t neighborhood in the midwest. I don’t drink and I exercise so I need to keep that up. I have a job that I start next week so I’ll get by but holy crap, this is going to take a lot of f’n work! I have no furniture.......almost nothing. I am literally starting my life over again as it was 20 years ago. I’m getting too old for this crap. I am deep, deep in the valley like you said. I will try to focus on the good and not dwell on the bad. I know this will change.....I can do this! My ex-wife is texting asking how everything is. I really want to tell her to f-off.

She just disappeared on the kids and I. Said she is going to see her family overseas and just cut communication to us. She left with a kiss and a hug and then the information started coming in. That she had been planning this for sometime at least 6 months previously..... she had pictures and a video of another man masturbating in her emails. She demanded divorce ... she refused to contact our children despite my pleas. She cut communication from whatsapp once I established it then only emails. I told her everyday I loved her ...tried to hug her everyday...I didn't abuse her...stayed strong for her and she did this to us. I am lonely and it hurts and I am a giving person and I can't motivate myself to start on myself. I just want her out of my thoughts.

I got divorced lost my house my business and yes Dog + cat. Having been kicked out by the judge. He gave me a date to be out. No housing would accept me because no job. No job would take me because i ran my own businesses for 27 yrs. I took a warehouse job and severely injured my shoulder. Workers comp screwed me . My ambulance chasing lawyer did an even better job at destroying me. Went homless now inly job can get is under the table work. My work skills are crap because of the injury. My lawyer made it impossible to get any kind of funding. The $ ran out 6months ago. Still no housing because I don't have a "job" on the books. Staying at the shop i work at which has no privacy, shower, and no ac (which is bad because i live in desert in s. California ). No friends locally they all mived outta ca. All that i own is in a 10' x 12' storage and two vehicles. Which one is dying. Bank one bill or paycheck late sends me in that spiral of over drafts. Ideas Jason

Lol... statiscally the probability of successful long term marriage declines with each attempt, in North America 1st = 53% fail, 2nd 75% fail, I notice in nz they publish divorce statistics in a way that is misleading as they are measuring yearly stats and most marriages are multiple years.... odds are not great!

Time to dust off and rebuild.. knowing what i know now there is zero incentive to want marriage ever - I guess thats why they changed the rules around de facto relationship laws because marriage rates were falling and instead write laws so that your automatically married in the states view after 2-3years of living together.. most men have no idea how much risk theyre taking in relationships until they find out too late

@@ESL-O.G. It is funny, for real. But in all seriousness, this is what got me to go off weed. It was effing my clarity and holding me back and down. I started to resent it a little. But after a week without it, I "got hooked" on clarity and sharpness. The difference in my performance was SO dramatic! That was about two years ago. I don't hate weed. I have nothing against anybody who enjoys it. But I have been enjoying my life so much more since I quit.

I am not the classic go-getter type of guy, and certainly far from being a social animal, but the learning experience for me is that I can’t do it all and alone. I know now that I can look for and deserve sponsors, mentors, experts to take the burden where they’re best at, and teach me where I can’t do by myself. As if almost driven by instinct, I went online and looked for bucket list ideas. I was surprised by how many things I wish I wanted to do. I have found a financial advisor, to counsel me on how I can achieve these goals. I have a therapist, to counsel me on how I can reach the best growing version of myself. I joined the gym to get fit. None of this eliminates the pain of a divorce. The only way out of the pain is through. Yet i can rely on others shoulders for support. One foot step at a time.

This is helpful to me, as my wife filed for divorce in January, 2020, and I have no idea what my financial picture is going to be a year from now. I have no debts, and I have a good paying job, but I have no idea how much I will have to pay to my wife. So I don’t know what my net income is going to be. As a Christian, I believe that God will provide for me, so that is all I really know at this point. I’m 59 years old next month, and I would like to retire at 62, but I’m not sure if I will have enough money at that age.

Pray for her salvation and spiritual maturity every day, pray in Jesus' name every day. Always love and respect the Father God and others, no using His name in vein. Always be a faithful Tither, make sure you're Tithing to the right ministry. One of my pastors tells us to preach about Tithing to Voice of the Martyrs ministry. He said it heals families and marriages, you can try that if you want to. CBN has great utube videos about marriage healing.

Gentlemen, on behalf of the fair sex (and let's be honest. Unless she's a genuine born-again believer, Very few women have any interest whatsoever in fairness on any level) I'd like to apologize to all of you going through divorce. I realize it's horrible for you. Perhaps I have a different perspective from most women because I have sons and brothers, but honestly, I'm sorry for your plight. I'm not making excuses for men who have legitimately done wrong and shot themselves in the foot, so to speak, but I am painfully aware that all too often, women are just hard-eyed, hard hearted, harpies just out to destroy, to practice a vicious game of parental alienation, and to take, take, take.

I am absolutely not born again, and have complete empathy and love for those going through divorce. I asked for the bare minimum in child support, since my ex makes about twice what I make. I asked for zero of his 401k, even though we had cashed in my IRA because we needed money. We put the kids first, and we both have cozy, safe and calm homes for our kids. And split custody 50/50. Don’t diss the “fairer sex”, please.

It's a devastating experience esp. if you did not want the divorce. This time last year I was a millionaire with a paid off modest townhouse. After 20 yrs of marriage she decided she'd had enough. Loneliest Christmas away from my kids. I retired at 62, no longer in the workforce. It's just day after day of "what next". Plus rejection and no words from her. I did try to reconcile, she completely shut me down. It has been Hell on Earth.
