we built 2 cars, #70 and #90 I won the SCCA world Challenge championship in 91 and 92 in these camaro race cars. We also finished 1-2 in the 24 hour of Mosport in Canada in the SCCA world Challenge series. these cars both have 100% of our innovations that we designed for the Camaro Market with LG Motorsports.

I've been looking for that car for years. Its was one of.my favorite race cars from back when I was driving autocross courses throughout south florida. A few years ago PBIR open a road race course and I retired from FedEx and told my wife I needed to find this car and start road racing again as a hobbie. But I'm not mad at all in fact I'm so happy with what.you have done here that I feel its.going to have a better life right where it is. Thank you for sharing this video with us because this one means so much to me. God bless and keep all.four on the ground..

True... Its awesome to have someone who knows their way around an engine bay! Not to mention, how to do the needed fixes on vehicles such as "bleeding brakes".... And as nice as it was to see the car be sold for charity, It'd have been the best if Tavarish had strait up given Jared the car since he essentially did all the work on it. You could tell that Jared was doing all that work because he truly thought that the car was something special. I mean, if you had to pay a mechanic to spend 2 twelve hour days sweating in a garage in July in florida of all places, It'd cost more than the $1500 that was originally paid for the car.

"If you dont have this key, you can't start the car" - It surprises me how little ppl know about this. That's not a 'chip' in the key, it's a simple Resistor. I've had to bypass plenty of these, The TINY Wires will fail, they go from the anti-theft, & up the steering column to the ignition and make Contact with the RESISTOR in the Key. If you ever lose the key/resistor, Just bypass it at the Anti-Theft junction with the approriately sized resistor. You can look that up easy peezy. OR MEASURE IT RIGHT NOW WITH A MULTI-METER. No need to be scared, it's just Basic Electrical. I reccomend Bypassing that system ASAP. it's a HEADACHE.

I’m so glad I found your channel. I’m putting together my uncles 1LE Camaro I roc. It has 44k miles on it. He gave it to me as a graduation gift before he passed away and I’ve been lost trying to put it back together. It was hard to look at for 2years. However, it’s almost done. All I have left is the maintenance you do before you turn the car on after it’s been sitting. So spark plugs, fuel pump, new gas and all new fluids.

All 3rd gen manual V8 were 305. The T5 trans was not rated for the torque output of the 350tpi engine, hence those are all 700R4 / 4L60e. 305s these years were available with a Tuned Port Injection (TPI) or Throttle body injection (TBI). Last Carb was 86/87 in the 305. I have a 86 Trans Am with the LG4 305 4bbl carb......well, it's a 355ci now but originally was 305.

@@chunkyboiz931 your right......just most people associate the two. Around 90/91 if I recall GM started to standardized their transmission names and the 700R4 became 4L60. 4 for 4 speeds, L for longitudinal (rear wheel drives) and 60 was a number for how robust. The 'e' came in the 4th gen as I recall with the electronic shift solenoids added.

that motor never took 5w30. The dealership when new shipped them with 10w30 and most racers ran 10-40. Also the "chip" on the key, is not called "a chip on the key" that's the GM "VATS". (Vehicle anti theft system) the chip is just a resistor, I won't post the values but you can easily google the entire list of values for that key, order a resistor online with the correct value, do a little solder job under the dash and get a plain cut key. The VATS system is a tricky beast, if the right resistance is not detected the car will crank, and it will fire for a moment then shut down, but that's only because the fuel pump always primes, VATS prevents the fuel pump from being on in the run condition. I have had a LOT of customers over the years bring in VATS vehicles on tow trucks from other shops because techs really didn't understand how it worked and could not properly diagnose it. If that is a factory manual 1LE then the motor is a LB9. If it was shipped auto then it could be either LB9 or L98. the VIN can be decoded to tell you the motor type. if it decodes to an L03 it was not a 1LE. I myself had an 89 1LE, I loved that car, and it ended up saving my life. I got rear ended on the freeway at 60mph by someone trying to get me to race them, I was heading to work and not having it, so he attempted a fly by and traffic came to a halt. He tried to get in behind me and nailed me dead on in the drivers rear quarter panel and 1 spun 7 times before jumping the divider and going into oncoming traffic. The car was toast. Hood was gone, rear window was gone, all 4 rims were shattered, seat was broken, steering wheel was folded like a taco. I didn't have a scratch on me. Not even a seat belt bruise. Then when I jumped out of the window, because the door was folded, I rolled my ankle LOL!. Mine while built to be a race car, was delivered to a guy in texas and daily driven, until he passed away, then his daughter drove it until the VATS resistor key failed and it wouldn't stay running. I bought the car in the early 2000's for $800.00 then I threw almost $4k into it the first month I owned it. I had the L98 350 CID motor in mine backed by a 4L60. (can't wait for the 700R4 know it alls to jump in and tell me I had one....., but I had a 30 spline input and a pinned flare with o-ring so no it was not a 700R4, and no I'm not confusing it with a 4L60-E, that's a totally different beast.) That tuned port setup makes AMAZING torque from off idle up to about 4kRPM then it falls on it's face. If you want to wake that motor up, look into the holley stealth ram intake for it. Lose some bottom end but make up for it with wild gains around 5k RPM. Also ditch the stock ECU. I don't think anyone still has the ability to burn chips for that antique. That motor is batch fire fuel injection, despite what many will try and tell you. Just look at the wiring diagram, there is not 8 injector drivers :) You can convert it pretty easily to SFI with standalone ECU and some new wires. I didn't see a center console so there is no way to verify the RPO codes and you CANNOT decode the vin to find out if it was a 1LE or not, you must have the RPO codes, unless GM can get you a copy of the label based on the VIN. being a 1LE owner almost 20 years ago felt like being a member of a secret society, very very few people knew what one was, until the new camaro came out with the 1LE package. When you try telling someone you owned a 1989 1LE that was just one of only 111 ever made, compared to the thousands they made now, they look at you in complete disbelief. Still one of the best handling cars I EVER owned, and I have owned more than most people who say they have owned a lot..... Hope it serves you well... if it is a true 1LE you need to hunt down the RPO label, and go road course racing with it.

I remember spending months trying to decide on rims alone and i ended up going with the ROH Snyper rims. Those rims on a newly painted red 1983 z28 looks fucking amazing. My first car was an 87 Camaro for $350. Reverse & 1st was supposed to be out but it just needed Gear oil then it shifted just fine. It had a carbureted 305, 5 speed, posi, headers. I think someone forgot to add gear oil when they replaced the clutch. So it was a steal for $350.
