My Gauge 1 live steam Rebuilt Merchant Navy had no trouble running in - 2c condtions, Great sound as well !
35003 ROYAL MAIL was the holder of of the fastest in its class attaining almost 106mph , Sadly it was scrapped in 1967 , 10 of the class Survive some operational others stored, Plus one other Ellerman Lines that was sectioned for educational puposes ,

Yes, when I was a teenager this was shedded at Weymouth a ‘haunt’ of mine. The film star 28 was resident as well.

@@eromsele I missed out on all the golden years except seeing Evening Star on the S&D and a couple of 02,s on the Isle of Wight just before steam ended over there ,

Brilliant performance all round, Graham. Very atmospheric in the snow - very good detail with its light reflective qualities - and, as you say, great sound in the cold still air. The camera obviously behaved well too in those conditions! Many thanks for sharing. Kind regards, Bob

Many thanks Bob, I was worried that the sudden temperature change could mist up or damage the video camera so i took it outside in its bag and waited a while before i could take out so it could become climaitzed to the cold air , Very pleased with the camera and locos performance , I wished i could have stayed out there longer but i cant take the cold like used too ! ,Kind Regards Graham

Thanks Peter, After sorting a few niggles 35003 has become a fine machine , I was going to run another locomotive but my old bones cant take the cold like they used to ! , Best Wishes Graham

Very nice Graham. I have on "Gauge 1 in Greensboro" a 232U1 running in the snow. It was 4" and another 4 fell soon after. Obviously I ploughed the track with a hand ploug first.
