$4.10 on ebay for just the bag (no shoulder strap). AWESOME, we got 3 of these for a 9-man squad, and in addition to 10 C's (with bic + plastic fresnel, and 50' paracord), fits whistle (20 cent aluminum), "emergency OTC pharma" in a clear plastic baggy, and things like machetes are carried by our 2 scouts (with smaller 32oz water...they keep it LIGHT:and are pair to 2 of the guys who carry these 3 water + "camping accessories" (small shit that's nice to not be a "group kit" so we can split into three fireteams of 3 men each OR 5 + 4 fireteams (with Squadleader choosing which squad he'll escort, so each squad has a GROUP SHARED "oh fuck" amount of SMALL, LIGH camping-emergency EXTRA survival stuff + BIG waterbottle so they're not always going to our guy who pushes an old bicycle with 50lbs of gear (way easier to ROLL it than to CARRY it, and ya STAY LIGHT / FAST if enemy contact is made.), with rarely-needed spares (like a spare BOLT and "drop-in trigger" if someone cracks theirs, gets a pebble stuck in the trigger parts while shooting prone-position, overheats or ruins a firing-pin or cam-pin in the middle of a fire-fight just replace the WHOLE bolt and worry which part overheated or jammed up LATER), plus *_some "luxury camping / morale & barter" items + FOOD + GALLONS of water on the bike. You don't RIDE the bike, just walk next to it like it's a "pack animal": The SECOND AR308 gunner (or anyone with lightly injured leg(s) ) can REST his upper-body weight on the bike-handles as he pushes/rolls it,_* and since he's toward the rear of the stack/other formation, he can just toss the bike someplace concealed for later retrieval, as he or Squad Leader decides where it's best to position his heavier firepower. The "small EMERGENCY camping /light bare-basics" in this type of bag means we don't put ALL our "eggs in one basket".

* also 45gal 2mil bag, instead of tarps; we keep tarps in that "main" kit. And small wrench/lock-picks + pliers-multi-tool + Sawyer&micron-sieves, and only 48oz water...to make space for the other items.

I'm disappointed. I just got the Pathfinder Bottle Bag just to find out it was made in China. I not only paid 30 for the UPS service, but I paid an extra 100 dollars for 'custom taxes', I live in Chinada (former Canada). My order was for 250 aprox and I paid 130 for the delivery (including the tariffs because all of the products were made in China). If you see Dave, please tell him this is sooo wrong, not only for the store, his reputation, but for USA.

Lol I can’t believe you used the word bannock. I’ve never heard anyone from the states use that word before. I’m from Canada and I guess I thought it was more commonly used up this way. Most people I’ve heard mention it from the states have called it fry bread. Anyways awesome video there corporal. They always get me in the mood to go through my gear and make it more manageable. Great information and presentation! My two cents... The bottle bag has external webbing; which means the preferred 5", fixed blade cutting tool, could be attached to the outside.

As someone who has gone through the Pathfinder School’s Basic and Intermediate courses, I have to say, this load out is about as close to perfect as you can get while carrying minimal gear. This is a brilliant idea and this kit should be in everyone’s vehicle for an emergency.

I have two bags similar to this on the outside of my get home bag. For the stick inside your bank line, you could use a flat hunk of fatwood.

Thank you for teaching me about the 10C. And I tried it behind the house , and everything you was talking about is TRUE , and work out great ; but it was a little colder at night so I had to get some wool blankets out the house. And I move the fire around the blankets and everything worked great. I live in city (Baltimore , Maryland ) and teaching my grandchildren a new way of live. They close down the boys club, and the recreation center, where I learnt from to be a boy scout.But now it's so much crazy people out there,who can you trust with your children. I respect and trust you corporate corner be safe. And have a blessed day .

CPL Kelly, a couple things to add, by adding an MRE-First Strike all day meal tan TRASH bag around your bottle and tarp wrap, it slides down easy ( kind of like when we were kids and mom put baggies on so our boot go on easy), it also seals at the top in case your cap is loose, you save any spilled water. Add a LID to that cup and store in the zippered cap, I added a piece of elastic to the zippered cap so the cup lid stays put. I also have the bottle stove, when in the plastic bag and at the bottom of the bottle, it slides down easy.

By FAR, one of the best videos I have see yet. I loved the fact that this was NOT just another demo video of a product but a video that in my opinion Trained you on what to bring on your first outing and Why you should bring it. Once you got used to doing that I'm sure you would always make sure to have those 10 basic survival items. Then I began to appreciate the product that carried all of those items and then some.There was not one item that wasn't necessary nor would i skimp on any one item. Thank you for this video and I look forward to viewing others.

Great idea. My mind is already thinking, empty water bottle, put a water filter in it, a signal mirror and whistle would be good additional items as well. Now I'll have one more stuffed small survival bag that never gets used, there's got to be a point where redundancy meets excessive. Or, is that obsessive/compulsive? Maybe hoarding is more to the point. At any rate, it's gotta be a disease of some kind.

A very clever kit. With the mollie webbing, you can add a pouch or two to hold a few more items if you ever have a need to.

I love the way you put that....."The important take away is to know why you are carrying the 10 C's and how to use them." So many people load up on gear and have no practical knowledge of the usage of each item. That's why I practice and I'm always learning something new or better ways from my own mistakes. I started my own channel for a basic timeline for myself and to document my camp experiences. It is guys like you Dave Canterbury and Grey bearded green beret who have inspired me to get out and enjoy life. For that sir... I thank all of you!

I've found that I can slide a heavy duty Mora into the molly webbing.This gives you a fixed blade knife.

A few ranger bands would make wrapping the canteen up in the canvas easier and I'm sure they would come In handy for other things.

I crammed a USGI poncho in the bottom of mine. Works all the same. Turns out to be a nice kit I can either pack or carry when foraging. Good to go!

I just got the 32 oz cook kit in that bag. I haven't had a chance to use it yet but you gave me some excellent ideas for it. Mine came with the water bottle, nesting cup, round stick stove, glowing ferro rod, enferno fire starters, fish mouth openers and eating utensils. I added the alcohol stove I also purchased from them because it fits perfectly under the stove that came with the kit. I love SRO's gear. Thanks for the tips and I look forward to more!

Based on this video, I picked up some of the Kodiak Power Cake mix for making bannock. I used a cast iron skillet and a bit of olive oil to "fry" it, and ...WOW! They are really good!!! I just used 1/2 cup of mix and about 1/3 cup water for a denser bread/biscuit like texture and smooshed it nice and flat after I flipped it. It went great with my chicken & rice soup for lunch. These would really be outstanding when in the field. Carbs, lots of protein, and a good amount of fiber, too. OUTSTANDING!!!

Always use precooked Maize flour...PAN to make arepas, this is my h easier then bannock. And have these things always in a old plastic bottle...never get wet and don't spill.

I like these bags, I appreciate how you explain to people and still speak in your own way. And Ranger beads is something that backpackers and hikers should be familiar with when they don't have their GPS cellphones to help. Don't want to become lost and alone or naked and afraid lol Great stuff

Stumbled on this video looking for lightweight packing ideas for motorcycle camping. Well done. Another great feature of the MC3 compass, it is gimbled so it will also work south of the equator. I also carry Bic lighters in my 24 hour bug out bag, but I don't expect them to work every time. Cold temps, gas leaks, or they get broken. Like your video, I back it up with a ferro rod.

Y'know that tingly somatic feeling when you get excited about doing something?? I get that from your videos. I was raised in the East Coast and recently moved to Colorado. I never went camping/hiking as a kid, and I've always wanted to go. You make learning things about survival and wildcrafting look super easy and fun. Maybe I'll start trying some stuff a little away from home!

I love this video! So many hacks. I made my own canteen kit, and it’s pretty much the same thing, but this one has a few things I need to put in mine, and the arrangement of it all makes more sense. Thank you so much. I also need to learn how to use pacing beads, and I need to train again using compass. I haven’t done orienteering since Boy Scouts. Videos like this are great reminders of those important skills. No substitute for getting out there and doing it. Keep up the great work sir. Thanks again.

@@Devil0983 Master Gunnery Sergeant would use it as a training moment, dress you out with his gear, and then have you carry it and re-equip just like he had it "for training". Sergeant Major would just have all his gear in a big sea bag, find a sturdy Marine and tell him to hump it for him. Either way, no one would complain. I humped the pack of a CWO5 during a long night move, no complaints. Those guys are legends.

Great kit. The only thing I couldn't understand was rolling the tarp around the bottle without using the relief for the bulkiness of the tarp's grommets. And, wouldn't you want the relief space at the top, for ease of extraction, anyway? Just wondering about those things. Edit: After viewing the kit vid again, one thing I have thought of to mod the kit is to have the flat stick be fatwood (for durability and firestarting), and form it into a netting needle shuttle (for making nets and even serve as a hobo reel as well). The multipurpose aspect of the single mod is a powerful force multiplier when combined with the inner strands of the paracord option for cordage. Just remember to wrap some small size 16 trout hooks in a tape made pouch, under the cordage you fasten around the shuttle. I also pair size 2/0 circle hooks for catching bonifide meal-sized fish from my panfishing adventures, so, I'd wrap those up on the other side. I use a dropshot rig for panfishing, and a splitshot rig for landing meals, so pack some small weights too (I just use the classic weights for both applications, so hopefully there is room for them inside, or you could expand the kit with a molle attachment).

A gadget pouch works well to hold a smaller IFAK and could be on the side of the bottle kit or the belt.

I know it's probably insanely simple, but if one of these videos could include a quick demo on how you made the duct tape holder for those needles on your trekker, that would make me feel better about doing that myself. it really is I great way to store needles! I copied your 5c'S shelter kit besides the Trekker cuz I still need to get it but that is going to be my hiking folder for sure.

Amazing, sir! Got the core kit elements narrowed down. That certainly leaves the option of keeping the 10 C's core kit at your side (literally) and can then place extra carry-on gear into a small back pack; if someone wants to carry extra gear, necessities and etc. And, if something happens that one needs to dump gear and go light, just hide the back pack (or whatever) and take off with the new PF bottle with the 10 C's core kit. And that certainly exposes good planning methods because I like having more gear but I do understand that something could happen and cause someone to move light.

I know this is an old video but, I wanted to mention that I liked it overall. Lots of good info in this. I can see that there are things that I need to ad to my canteen kit. Mine is the smaller one by Condor. It's designed for the 40oz Kleen Kanteen. Which is something I was wondering about with your kit. Just think of all the room you would have in that larger bag if you used a 40oz Kleen Kanteen instead. Small IFAK maybe? That beefier tarp you were talking about. More food as well.
