This videos features several versions of the Puma series, that changed its repeatedly over the course of time. In the early 1990s, Aerospatial, user of the "SA-" distinction joined Eurocopter, Airbus's then helicopter branch, all their products changed their distinction to "EC-" because of that. In 2013 Airbus renamed Eurocopter into Airbus Helicopter so the current names start with "A-" or "AH-". Meanwhile the Puma series received numerous upgrades, improvements sometimes going along with different special-purpose designations.

28 to 30 million per copy depending on options. That is one expensive helicopter. Still very impressive. As a real American, though my preference is UH-60M.

Were these Helis grounded because crashes due to faulty main rotor gears ...crashes in Norway and Japan ?

And UK! Both older Super Pumas and newer EC225 had a lot of issues with their main gearboxes. The one that crashed in Norway even lost its main rotor. I was flying in them many times to offshore rigs. When all those incidents and accidents happened rather frequently many platform workers refused to fly with the Pumas any longer. The heli companies had to replace them with Sikorsky S92 and newer EC175. I still think it is one of the best medium size helis but they certainly had their issues.

It was still a Eurocopter when we bought it. Later it became part of Airbus.

@@cleanenergyinside1921 The Puma was originally made by Aerospatial of France that in 1992 joined MBB of Germany to form Eurocopter. Eurocopter always was a subsidiary of Airbus. They just renamed it to Airbus Helicopters in 2013 to make this fact more obvious.
