Arthur Aguefort is the anti-Dumbledore. He is an old powerful wizard and principal of a magic school, but his pithy wisdom and inspiring speeches are baffling and upsetting, his life lessons have a confrontational frankness to them, and he radiates chaos instead of calm.

Honestly the best thing to happen was Kristen and Gorgug dying cause Arthur Aguefort straight up murdering Mr Gibbons and shooting himself made me actively lose my mind. I was iffy about a D&D show but then that moment made sure I would watch every episode.

I have two pieces of advice for every new DM. First, it is great to have a plan. To know why things are happening, to know who the NPCs are, what their motivations would be, and how you want to plot to actually go. The second is that no plan will ever survive contact with players. Vital NPCs will be murdered, or ignored entirely, Random set dressing characters will become cornerstones of the campaign no matter how innocuous. Rolling with the punches is the juice of the game, learn to do that even relatively well and you will be a fantastic DM.

For new DM, most important thing is for you and players to have fun ... thus the importance of the listener aspect. Then is to have a broad idea of what the story is you want to have the players go through.... so you can help prompt the players if they are stuck. But really just keep introducing little aspects and let the players run! DO NOT GET HUNG UP ON RULES ... you can always just tell the players you will look it up officially for next time. That’s it, have fun

i randomly skipped to the middle of the episode because boredom and ended up landing at the exact beginning of brennan’s speech about DMing for beginners. i’m about to try my hand at being a DM for the first time with some of my friends in a couple weeks and that was exactly what i needed to hear

My favorite npc was the hangman... and the Bill/Fabian moment "You know I'll die long before you..." - "Yes papa, you tell me every day" PS. Not a comedy writer, still don't like "classic" jokes. Gilear was awesome. Nothing makes me laugh more than misfortune if I know that person didn't actually get hurt. Every time my man stubs his toe I'm in tears, I hate this but it just makes me laugh so hard.

I LOVE dimension20 and everything being done lately, but I am kinda worried about the audio mixing on these live episodes as I've seen quite a number of comments but no changes made one way or the other. The one with Emily and Brian as guests was peaking whenever they got excited. In this, sometimes I have to turn my volume up to hear Zac because he's so quiet, only for Ally or Brennan's laughs to be then extraordinarily loud. I wonder if it's better with headphones or worse?

I know this episode is super old but for a fan side quest you could make one shot campaigns if possible and then could have the cast premake some fun characters people get at random and then get some time to think about how they'll handle that character and then you can film it hopefully all in one day or two days max. I think that would be a super fun idea and I honestly totally trust that the writers and Dropout could make some fantastic characters for people to make their own.
