Getting results with finding vinyl... No!! The results would come in by finding them on CD instead! 😆👍

Wow! That was a long one. I think the correct pronunciation is Bowie as in 'bow tie'. Although, even Linda Lewis (who sang on Aladdin Sane) reverted to both versions.🤔
@thevinylvault
@thevinylvault Ай бұрын
Yes, sorry about that but glad you stuck with it. I am going with the 'bow tie' thing although I bet I forget next time I find and show one of his records.

PS, there's only 4 European 1991 pressings (none exclusive to the UK) of Use Your Illusion II so that's a really nice find

Thanks for letting me know about the 4 European pressings. I had no idea how many variants were manufactured. Your comments are appreciated.

I don't know how you do it over and over again. Last week i came home with a "Strawbs" album and a "Genesis" album and that set me back a tenner...i only got them because i didn't want to go home with nothing. Had a few Beatles albums and Led zep for cheap so far this year. But nothing like what you find each week. People in East Yorkshire must just either like country music or not willing to sell
@thevinylvault
@thevinylvault Ай бұрын
Thanks so much for your comments which really made me laugh especially the bit about the tenner lol. I also get your point about going home empty handed. Happens to me too. Glad you found a few bits earlier in the year and I am sending you some good vibes for the coming weeks. Come on East Yorkshire turf out your vinyl.

Martin, fantastic classic records there mate. I bought my Billion Dollar album when it was first released. Sadly my billion dollar bill got lost along the way. Cash it in and you’d have enough to buy another billion records 😁😁. That stack would be a great start for someone just getting into vinyl, an instant collection that wouldn’t set you back a packet. Two cups of tea for this one. Looks like all the vinyl was in very good Nick. Cheers.

You got some great records albeit many are common..the seam splits are super easy to fix with Pritt stick, and the sleeves mainly look in good shape. The Alan Hull Pipedream is a nice record, he was the main songwriter in Lindisfarne. Just out of interest, what did you pay for all these?..i guess it was a £1 a piece then. I recall last year you ended up selling what you'd picked up..do you plan to do the same this year?.
@thevinylvault
@thevinylvault Ай бұрын
Thanks for your continued support and regular comments which are appreciated. I never knew about Alan Hull being in Lindisfarne . Yes, it seems like the going rate at the boot sale is £1.00 each although sometimes it can be £2.00 or even £3.00 each. 50p each is less common now days. Last year I kept some really nice things but also let lots of stuff go in a bundle. I try to keep stuff that is VG+ or better and where possible up upgrade as I go along. I am not sure what I am going to do this year but I may need to let some stuff go if I run out of space. Its a bit of an addiction collecting records.

Thank you for your support. I must admit it would seem that I have more luck than others but all I know is I put in many hours and have many wasted trips. I have many videos of me finding nothing but who wants to watch them. Saying that I do put some of those on my shorts feed.

Why not make a video from the next boot-sale video to put the doubters to bed, those who think you can only find Jim Reeves and perry Como at boot sales unless you a=want to pay 6-30 per LP. , .. Maybe showing the records in the tubs as you flick then, and ask the vendors prices etc.. .. then bringing those records home. You've probably done one or more of these before, but not when picking up a 20-60 record pile. Or indeed anything good.
@thevinylvault
@thevinylvault Ай бұрын
You make a very good point. I have tried to do this on a few videos but its a little hard trying to negotiate with the seller, fend off the dealers, grab the records and hold the camera. I normally only do it when no one is around so I can hold the camera and look at the records. I did spend a fair bit of money on a GoPro camera to go around my neck but it stopped working on my third attempt of using it and I had to sell it for spares and repairs. I have also had sellers moan at me for filming so I got to say the whole thing isn't easy. Thanks for your comment and all the best.

Living in Australia, and seeing the range of vinyl being presented in these types of videos, I've come to the conclusion that population and geographical location/ distance in relation to the rest of the world, is a major disadvantage for people searching for vinyl records here. I would assume there's just not the volume of vinyl compared to UK and USA.
