@The Wolf of Justice and Truth The thing isn't all about pay it's about the environment you make. Hell I work for very little pay currently at a retail place doing back end stuff and merchandising, however with the climate of the people working there, it makes it so much better. People want to come in because everyone is nice and it's laid back.

It’s not always “how may i direct your call?”, especially if many people don’t immediately know who they need to speak with. You need more information to properly assist the caller. Be confident in asking to help, it’s ok. It’s also a low key way of screening calls.

Hi sir I'm working as a receptionist, but I frequently have this problem I really don't know how to fix this.. when customers call me and ask for someone, and when the person not in office or not in their place, I will usually take note their name, their company name and their phone number.. but when they mention their company name I having this problem I always end up listening it wrongly, when I said that I don't hear it clearly and I ask the customer to repeat their company name, they will angry,... Sometimes when I ask them to spell their company name also they spell it so fast and quickly cut off the line.. bcoz of this problem I can't give any information to the Co worker that the person have call her.. When there is walk in customer looking for something also.. I feel very hard to communicate with the customer.. When the customer tell their name and their company name.. I very hard to understand it quickly.. I have to ask the customer 3 times for me to understand.. sometimes I will ask the customer to write their company name and their name in a piece of paper.. I know it's not professional way.. but I have no other way since I can't understand easily Wat people telling me ... Normally I will be struggling a lot when customer walk in and ask me for something.. I don't have listening skills

@caroljarman22084 жыл бұрын
Walk ins's - ask them for their business card , if they don't have one, ask THEM to please write it down (make sure you can read it). . Act like this is normal, it's your offices new normal. It's more efficient, less chance of errors and less frustration for everyone.
@caroljarman22084 жыл бұрын
Jasinta Selvi - another idea for walk in's- Visitor's Journal- Ask company if they could start using one or for a low tech option, just use a notebook and ask visitors to please sign in & put in their contact info.in. Goggle " Visitor's Log" to learn more. About understanding accents; The more you listen to accents you find difficult and unfamiliar the more you'll get used to them. Then you'll be less stressed and able to focus, (ask speaker to please slow down & repeat it back -go slow) and with practice it will get easier. Watch & Listen to Radio, tv, DVD's, iTunes, KZfaq shows with accents you have a hard time hearing. You are not alone, common problem, Read this article eurolinguiste.com/accent/
