Aprende a hacer el MEJOR Pavo Relleno para esta época de THANKSGIVING
FIRST PART (SEASONING)
Ingredients:
-18lbs turkey
-2 sticks of salted butter
-3-4 sprigs of Thyme
-2-3 Rosemary Sprigs
-1 head of garlic or 6-7 cloves
-1 cilantro bunch
-1 tbsp Adobo
-1 tbsp Sazon
-1 tsp Pepper
SECOND PART (ARROZ APASTELADO)
Ingredients:
-1/3 cup Aceite de Achiote
-1/3 cup salted pork (or not)
-2-4 Tbsp Sofrito
-1 tbsp Garlic Paste
-1 tbsp Better Than Chicken Bouillon
-1 tbsp Tomato Paste
-2 cans of Gandules
-Pitted Olives 🫒
-1 tsp Oregano
-1 tbsp Adobo
-1 tbsp Paprika
-4 cups of medium Grain rice
-6 cups of water
-6-7 Green Cooking Bananas
-2 Banana Leaves
Instructions:
On High heat Stir fry all of your seasonings and Gandules. Add your Rice and Water and stir. Keep the it on high heat until all the water has evaporated and the rice peaks through. Stir the rice from the bottom up and lower the heat to low. Grate your green bananas, seasoned with salt. Add the green bananas to the rice and spread it thin like frosting. Add banana leaves and cover for 15-20 minutes on low heat until green bananas are cooked. Stir and mix the green bananas and the rice until well incorporated and cover with banana leaves once again for 10 more minutes and ENJOY!!!!
THIRD PART (STUFFING THE TURKEY)
Instructions:
Take 4 to 5 heaping spoonfuls of your rice and set part for stuffing. Form rice into large balls to help the stuffing process. Place the rice balls into the turkey cavity. Once it’s full, cover with a banana leaf to prevent rice from falling apart. Tuck turkey legs into the turkey tail. Using a Reynolds oven bag, place your turkey in the bag and tie it poke 3 to 4 small holes into the bag to allow ventilation in the oven. Cook in the oven at 315° for 5 to 6 hours no need to be or to open the bag. With a thermometer you can check the temperature and make sure that it is at 165°. ENJOY!!!!
