Just a friendly heads-up about a typo: at 1:05:10 Pogorelich plays the K. 1 in d minor, not the K. 15. The K. 15 is in e minor. KZfaq videos indicate that Pogorelich often played the K. 1 as a concert encore. But in my view he never played it better than he does here.

@ghuinink8 жыл бұрын
Although i feel and experience that Bach's music is among the purest and noblest currently present on earth, I don't think it is a good thing to judge and rank. Because where does it end, and why would you do it? To give your own taste more value as oppose to others? The only judgement you can have with absolute certainty is that you yourself value some music above other music. Doing it for the whole of humanity is a form of arrogance.
@AdamCzarnowski8 жыл бұрын
+Geert Huinink Although I see where you are coming from, Geert, I am not sure I agree. Since there is no shortage of ill-informed people who have no hesitation in proclaiming the most mediocre musical doodlings are "genius", which creates a sort of received opinion that, say, "Coldplay are great", surely it behoves those of us with ears, a brain, musical taste, and, dare I say it, a soul, to proclaim the timeless and eternal supremacy of the greatest classical masters, if only to give confidence to the new convert to this music that the sublime qualities of this music they are discovering is not a mirage, and that they are not deluded, pretentious or wrong in thinking that this music is, indeed, amongst the greatest ever written?
