Or how about celebrities going through the same problems as a million other people dont act like they're some inspirational story. Since they pulled through thanks to millions of dollars, virtually endless resources, millions of adoring fans, and all around just 100x more than the average person. Much less average drug user. It's difficult no matter who you are, but I have endless more respect for someone pulling themselves out of the gutter than someone who was already on top and went through this with money falling out of their pockets.

To be honest, it depends more over on how you see them. And I don't mean you specifically, but I mean anyone. Personally for me, I would see a homeless addict in streets the same way I see Demi, which is someone who is in need of help. But, not everyone will see it in that perspective because the homeless person is homeless, which puts them down on the list in our society, whereas a celebrity will make it in the news because they're a celebrity.

“How much heartbreak can you have at 16?!” Stuff like this bothers me so much. Adults truly believe you have nothing to stress over or be sad about because you’re young. Age doesn’t mean a thing when it comes to pain. And it’s not a competition on who’s been through more pain than the next. What I’m going through may be the worst thing IVE ever experienced because it’s ME. When adults say stuff like that or, “you have nothing to be stressed about, I have to pay bi-“ it just makes me so upset and leads me to just keep everything to myself until I have a mental breakdown.

exactly! and pain is relative too! like someone who has been through a lot may take something a lot better than someone who has had a decent life up until something bad happens and they totally breakdown because they have never experienced something like that before. Everyone feels pain differently and it isn’t fair to discredit someone and their experiences because you dealt with it better than they did. I wish adults understood this.

I read a comment on the Grammy’s performance vid that was like, “If Demi hadn’t made it, this would’ve been her legacy song, the last song she recorded before she died... so glad she didn’t, she has so much more to do...” and I got such chills. She says it foreshadowed her OD... insane that it’s foreshadowing her rock bottom but not death or escaping death...

Selena and Demi... that's a very complicated relationship. I think they experienced a lot of trauma around the same time and handled things differently. I think how they are now is fine and shouldn't be made into a spectacle. They both seem to wish each other the best and I think that's more than enough for them.

Sadly I lost my virginity in a similar situation, I even convinced myself that bc I liked the guy that it wasn’t rape and a year after I tried to “date” him bc throughout the day he seemed a great person and bc he acted like it wasn’t wrong I convinced myself he wasn’t doing anything wrong but every time it came to sex, he was very pushy and aggressive... it took me years to call it what it was.. which was rape!!

I think Demi’s sister’s response was the most honest in regards to ‘giving up’ on her. I’ve dealt with being around someone with addiction and I think it’s a lie or naïve to say that you’ve never wanted to give up on someone with addiction. It becomes tiring after years 😕. You don’t want to give up, but often people place you in that position where you don’t have much of a choice

And that at the very end of it, she says “I’m tired of opening my mouth” She was assaulted. She was a child. And she feels defeated even after coming clean all these years later. 🥺

Many assault survivors feel this way. And usually that’s the case. Especially when it comes to the judicial system, we are not protected. We are thought as crying rape. When in actuality the person were reporting is a rapist, but because of their social standing, they will never see any jail time and we will never see any justice. So I feel her on that completely. Would I want to be known as the girl who cried rape? Or do I want justice?

@@ray-kf3mf they were mifchelle on full house since they were like 1, movie companies and merchandise- millionaires by 7! But then people starting bullying them, one was anorexic, they stopped acting, and to this day run their fashion line( which is REALLY SUCCESSFUL)

omg yes. most of the disney and nickelodeon child stars were relatively older when they started, so I can't imagine how it's different starting out when you're an infant and don't even have a choice in the matter. I don't know how much they've said about their childhood but I do kinda wish they would do something like this.

Her voice is so beautiful i remember watching the Grammy performance and I cried like a baby she is just so beautiful inside and out she is just so unbelievably amazing and a beautiful soul

I did the same thing as her after being assaulted . I thought sleeping with him again would take back my power . It didn’t and I was judged . I’m so so happy that she shared this , it’s the first time I have felt like someone got me

I had no idea she had such a traumatic history. I'm glad she made this series and was vulnerable. I had no idea she had a problem with addiction until she overdosed.

Don’t forget Dani, although she knows Demi on a professional level, they have friendship. She took the fall for all of it and was quiet because she was busy worrying about Demi being alive at the end of all of this
