People cloud themselves to that which is obvious truth when they feed into their own or a collective fantasy or faith. Nurgle is the representation of the USSR communism as a plague which it was. Pope & emperor as in the two Swords was symbolic of the leaders in Northern and Western Europe, or Latin Christendom in the Holy Roman Empire. USSR vs the HRE one an ideology & the other a fanatical faith. Hero, villain ask both sides & they will claim the contrary for it is not reality or truth but their own warped perspective. The fact people think the Imperium=fascism shows what little they know of history.

@@arnijulian6241Not every sci-fi universe is based entirely on real life events. The Imperium is fascist. People who say otherwise know little of government. The Imperium is immoral at best and absurdly dystopian at worst. There doesn’t have to be a “good guy” and a “bad guy” in every story. The Chaos Gods themselves aren’t all bad either. Sure, Nurgle largely represents stagnation and rot. But Nurgle also represents serenity and surety. Tzeentch is always changing but that also means they you’re never going to be stuck with a bad thing forever, it’ll change pretty quickly. Slaanesh represents overindulgence but they also represent passion and loyalty to a craft. Khorne represents war but also the camaraderie, loyalty, and honor that comes with it. Besides, the Chaos Gods are all the way that they are because that’s how the eldar and humanity dreamed them to be. In the real world too there is no one that is entirely good in all aspects or entirely bad in all aspects. Everything is shades of gray. The sooner you learn that, the wiser you’ll be.

Nurgle represent stagnancy as well & trust me communism is exactly that. stagnancy of mind body & all. Tzeentch you can change a million ways & more from what they were but you have a chance of a beneficial out come. Nurgle is only decay Nature festers & renders you down. I'd pick Tzeentch in heart beat over Nurgle as at least in his Hegelian way their is something. Tzeentch is Hegelian dialectics which is the very premise of how change is permitted in ancient Greek philosophy. Funnily Hegel's work by new age so called philosophers though ideologs arrogantly think you can make order of the chaos of change then you get Nurgle which show the French revolution mind set that lead to Marxist thought leading to nothing but stagnant decay in a society. Korne is Darwinism being ''survival of the fittest'' or kraterocracy as ''might is right''. I would never join the Imperium wither even if they are the best written faction in the 40K franchise representing the 2 swords of Emperor & pope as in Christendom. If Imperium is dying in the 40K then it has already died in our world. Our societies & more are built upon the carrion cities that are akin to ruins in Europe as they are not of this time with paint plastered over top. Those outside of primarily western & northern Europe would not understand my point. It is a living corpse like the emperor of man on life support. Mind, If I am any faction in the 40k universe then I be of Ork's lad as an Englishmen. I like a good wah, enjoy a capitalistic anarchic society that deals in teeth & scrap. Britain really hasn't changed though under new management from one set of aliens to another. The old ones replaced by others from out side our painted face tribes. Being an Ork/Englishmen I am immune to the forces of Chaos as all I want is good krumping, crumpet & grub. Our Orky cousins across the pound like dakka the most as in guns being the USA. Orks were the largest fraction in the 40k till they got board & distracted. Just like the Anglo-sphere such as the British empire the largest history followed by the USA taking over as global hegemony with all other factions as their client states! 40k is global politics & history but made fun for autists to sell plastic miniatures.

Make no mistake, Nurgle offers no true comfort. His so call gifts only come after you suffer an unimaginable amount of suffering he himself brought upon you. Only after you truly cross the edge of despair, does Nurgle own your soul forever. He is stagnation, despair, rot that comes through hollow acceptance. Moving, living, it will hurt you, but that is a human thing, only through it can change for the better come, when it stops hurting, then the despair has set in, then your soul is in betwixt. You must press on.

The artist did an amazing job I love that close shot of her pallid eye. You can see the haze in her mind, a confused shock like suddenly remembering something important. You can see the sorrow, that small piece left of her trying to tear itself free, dampened by the vile urge that puppets her. Almost like she’s on the cusp of realise what she’s doing. And he looks and just sees the dead eyed stare, a wretched thing wearing her face, torn, twisted and grotesque, the colour faded, the mouth split and violated but still undeniably her. For her a hazy dream waiting to become an unending waking nightmare, for him the nightmare is his waking world and he is about to snap into eternal sleep.

I think the worst part for him is knowing that she chose it. Tempted, deceived... but not unwilling. To know she cast aside her honor and humanity for empty promises. Wondering if perhaps she hesitated, if she resisted, if but for a moment... or embraced the darkness with zeal, to allow herself to be twisted and warped and remade into a vile mockery of her former glory. At least, I assume she chose it. If I recall - and I have hardly any knowledge of 40k, so take it how you will - is that the Gods of Chaos can't necessarily just take someone.

@@MrCrunchytime Not necesarily, Chaos is corruptive in existence, there is a very big chance that she simply was in the wrong place and wrong time and she was powerless to do anything about it. At best, she may have had a slight chance, but chaos doesn't exactly make you think clearly, THAT's why you BURN everything that has even a slight chance to be a risk.

My take on the story: A moment of hesitation provides an opportunity. A Primaris Lamenter saw the tragic standoff between the Guardsman and the female Plague marine. Chainsword in hand, he dashed forward as fast as he could across the Nurgle-infested battlefield. The plague marine noticed the oncoming assault and fired at the marine. The Lamenter charged forth, the Guardsman could only watch his beloved former comrade, being given the Emperor's mercy, cut down by chain sword and a bolt pistol to the head. the space marine, injured from the attack, walks up to the shaken Guardsman, he knelt down on one knee and looked at him with a hint of pity and sorrow behind the Mk.10 helmet. "It is done." Said the Lamenter. "She will be at peace." The Guardsman can only reply with grief. "I'm sorry... I'm so sorry..." "Don't be."

His momentary inaction led to both of them dying, God forbid that he only grazed her as he was shot down, she would almost certainly roam trapped inside her own body aware of her actions yet unable to stop. Grieving is a process that is only allowed to be done after you have achieved your tasks and in a relatively safe place. I personally like to think that both of them would end up with each other in the afterlife free of any and all ailments such as a warped mind and be able to properly embrace eachother.

ya know what always makee me cry and fucks with me in media and fiction is when the person they love gets corrupted in some way and by the end both go against each other. it always fucks with me ESPECIALLY when that special someone is tainted by someone else, in this case by nurgle. Shit mans its just a two and a half minute long video but the pain and emotions it invoked in me is far greater than some entire seasons of animes and shows and movies. To me love is pure and beautiful and to have that taken from you and/or corrupted is too sad of a fate to want to think about. Amor sacer

For those of you worrying, she’s not a female space marine. She looks to be a catachan, since you can’t see any of those connector nodes in her skin in the photo. Looks to be just marine armor put onto her, and it looks noticeably oversized. Also, what a horrifying concept. Maybe 3 endings would be cool, the bad ending being the guardsman being reborn as some twisted version of himself (plaguebearer?) in Nurgle’s garden and them finding eachother. The “good” ending would be the dead guardsman catching a glimpse of her corrupted soul, which would be shown to have some clean parts that give him hope as his soul dissipates; just giving him some kind of comfort that the woman he knew isn’t wholly gone. The neutral end is them trading and being torn away from eachother (and probably apart by daemons)

Она начала ощущать что ее тело делает то, чего она не хочет. Он пытался подойти к ней, она сразу же его оттолкнула. Он не мог оторвать от нее своего взгляда. Ее глаза ясно говорили: ,, Беги, беги со всех ног!!! " И в этот момент он почувствовал, что к его затылку приставлено дуло пистолета. Он хорошо знал что это за пистолет, даже слишком хорошо, он хорошо знал этот запах табачного дыма и эту марку сигарет. Почти сразу раздался выстрел... Эту день войдет в легенды, потому что ничего подобного до этого не происходило... Его сердце начало бешено биться, он ощущал всеми фибрами своего тела что в затылок ему летит пуля и что ей остаются считанные миллиметры но она как будто... замерла?... Он медленно повернулся, и увидел что между ним, и ( кто - бы мог подумать ) комиссаром стоит человек в старом потрёпанном плаще и широким капюшоном. Он увидел что этот незнакомец держит двумя пальцами пулю... Комиссар, как и он были в недоумении. Офицер не обращал внимания ни на предателя ( как он думал) ни даже на валявшуюся в грязи еретичку.Он спросил к незнакомца: ,, Какой полк? Кто твой командир? "... Молчание... Он повторил громче... Снова молчание... ... Молчание... Незнакомец повернул свою голову в капюшоне в его сторону, и увидел он, что волосы его офицера стали дыбом, пистолет, сигарета и меч выпали из рук а сам он вскрикнул, и упал на землю. И самое странное то, что он свернулся калачиком и накрыл голову руками... Незнакомец отбросил пулю, повернулся к гвардейцу но он ничего не увидел за капюшоном... Он вообще не понимал что происходит, что, происходит с комиссаром, с ней... ЧТО ВООБЩЕ ПРОИСХОДИТ В ЭТОМ МИРЕ!?... Мысли скручивались, путались.Незнакомец подошел к ней, она так же сопротивлялась тому что ее так исковеркало и истерзало. - Встань - сказал он, и внезапно для нее, ее руки и ноги снова стали ее слушаться, она встала. И увидела незнакомца. Он смотрел то на нее, то на этого загадочного парня. И когда она посмотрела она посмотрела ему через капюшон... она, чуть ли не ползая в страхе начала убегать от него и скрылась за спиной гвардейца. В этот момент он как будто-то о бы ожил хотел поднять свою винтовку что бы разобраться с эти типом. Но когда он обернулся к ней он увидел в ее руках свою винтовку.. она пыталась застрелиться!! - Нет, остановись - вскричал он... - Расслабься, там тоже пустая обойма - сказал ему незнакомец... ,,В смысле пустая!?", ,, Тоже!?", подумал он... Она тоже удивилась когда она сняла обойму... Потом когда он обернулся, не знакомец стоял к нему чуть ли не в упор... ,, что за!?.. Он же был в метре от меня!! " - Отойди - сказал тот, повелительным, но в тоже время мягким голосом.. Он отошел.И в этот момент, что то просвистело над их головами. В 30 - 40 метрах, были видны взрывы.. один, две, три, четыре. ,, Василиски": шарахнулось в его голове... В этот момент он увидел, что незнакомец подошёл к ней положил руку ей на голову - Скажи : ,, я отвергаю тебя Нургл" - произнес он.. ,, Если бы я могла": подумала она - А разве сейчас ты не можешь?... И в этот момент она почувствовала как жар начинает идти по всему телу, она почувствовала сильную рвоту и все вокруг закружилось... Она упала и увидели как ненавистные ей щупальца выпали из ее рта... ,,Дайте умереть!!!Мне уже давно пора принять вечные муки ": звенело в ее голове - Это я буду решать когда тебе ,, пора"- сказал он. И в друг... туман начал рассеиваться, облака начали расходится, и постепенно начали выглядывать лучи солнца... Он и она уже не обращали внимания ни на голот, ни на взрывы, ни на друг друга. Их взгляды были сосредоточенны на нем - Скажи : ,, я отвергаю тебя Нургл" - тем же тоном произнёс он .... .... .... -Я, отвергаю, тебя... Нургл - сказала она и тот час же из ее глаз потекли слезы.
