Growls are harder to do than singing. That's why not everyone does it.

I love this song soo much!! Amorphis is one of my top, top bands and Tomi has the best growls and cleans I've ever heard! Love love love! Finnish and Swedish metal is the best there is 🤘🇸🇪🇫🇮 So more Amorphis, Opeth and Ghost!!

Oo... this is new for me also... recommendation went through this fast! 😄 Amorphis is a finnish melodic death metal band. They have been around since early 90'ies. But they also has folk metal influences. I have grown with Iron Maiden, Dio, Manowar, Wasp, Saxon, Def Leppard and lots of other 80'ies heavy metal. Metallica has always been the band for me, but just few years ago I started listening metal with growls and I really learn to appreciate that, but for me there has to be also clean vocals too. Growling is pretty much like setting a guitar amp to distort. Gives the music more character, more texture. A beastly flavor to contrast with the beauty. ...not for everyone.

I love Amorphis and I love Anneke so this to me is a spectacular collaboration. I saw an Amorphis logo on your wallpaper so I had assumed you knew them, but when you said they were new to you in your introduction, I was surprised. Amorphis has never made a bad album IMO, but they have a mix of clean/growled vocals throughout their discography. Some songs have exclusively clean vocals since Tomi joined the band. Their first album was pure death metal with ALL growls but they evolved quickly to include clean vocals and eventually did three albums with 99% clean vocals (Tuonela, Am Universum & Far From The Sun), all with their previous singer. Check out Tuonela...one of their best and like I said, 99% clean vocals. Cheers!

Not everyone can appreciate growling, but it does take talent. Just grab a microphone and try it. I dont blame or talk trash about those that dont like growling though. It does sort of depend on the era of metal you grew up with. But saying growling is about not having talent shows a very limited metal education

You might like Beast in Black - maybe their song Blind and Frozen or Die by the Blade. No cookie monsters there. ;-)

Definitely one of greatest metal singers. You should watch Amorphis song Towards and Against, live. There you can hear clean, crunchy and growl singing, switching smoothly. Amazing skill🤘

For an amorphis song with clean vocals I'd suggest " Come the Spring "

What is often not understood is the story that a song tells and to which the video also fits in this case.

Amorphis- Hopeless days or Wrong direction is good

This was played a LOT on some radio channels in Finland. Still is time to time. You should do Alice in Chains - Nutshell or Brother (album versions, not unplugged with half dead Layne even though lots of people prefer that one for some reason).

Do "Battle Beast - Black Ninja" :)

I would recommend some song from the Am Universum album from Amorphis where they do not growl at all. Start with the first track, Alone, the into gives me the chills every time.

More Amorphis please! I recommend their song Golden Elk, darn, it's beautiful. Growling can be hard to get into, but Amorphis uses it very well, and of course Tomi's vocals, both clean and harsh, are beyond amazing. So keep listening, you'll get there ;D

Love their melodic tunes. They have an older one - "You I Need" that you'll probably really like. No cookie monster there. Very underrated band indeed.
