So glad that you mentioned Skyblazer. It's one of my very favorite games of all time and not enough people talk about it. I just played through it for the first time in many years last week and I had a great time. Also, yes, Ukiyotei made Hook first and then Skyblazer came after it, basically using the same engine as Hook.

Great recommendations. I think Chameleon Twist is overlooked because of its camera issues and because it's short, but I quite like it. Plus, you can try and collect all the crowns to extend the longevity a little bit.

Wanna feel old? You mention Jumping Flash is over 20 years old, which it totally is, but when we think of the 90s, it's usually just "over 20 years" ago. This game came out in 1995, making it almost 30 years old!

Wanna feel even older? _Final Fantasy VII_ is now *twice as old* as _Punch-Out!!, 1942, Jet Set Willy,_ and the original _King's Quest_ were at the time of _FFVII's_ release.

I really wish they had put Somer Assault on the TG mini. It sits in my memory banks as one of those amazing games that I forget about for five years, then become obsessed with finding it again. I think it was the first game that I remember saying "who made this?" and of course, Atlus.

Glad to see the Atari 2600+ and here's to hoping that other developers will follow suit and make hd releases for their consoles that use the retro carts and cds. Would be an amazing addition to the hobby, just not looking forward to potential price spikes of every decides to prepare. So maybe a top Atari 2600/7800 video soon?

Great choices here, especially Skyblazer, Exile, Jumping Flash, and Mappy Land. Jumping Flash looks like it shouldn't work, because Platformers in first-person are sketchy enough, but having to control one with a d-pad of all things just sounds awful, but I had a great deal of fun playing it on my PSP; give it a chance! Mappy Land is really cool, too; I love all the little secret areas you can find in the different stages.

@@JohnRiggs I hope there's a newer ROM out there now, but back in the early 2000s, there was a very glitchy, badly-translated version of Skyblazer floating around that really didn't play like the actual game. From what I can tell, the game has a bit of a bad reputation because of this ROM, which is a shame because the actual cart version is much better and doesn't have those problems.
