always remember The urge to save humanity is almost always a false-front for the urge to rule it.

Perhaps get a window air conditioner to avoid a heat related death? A small one is much cheaper than a phone

Oh dear Lord...a "lingering HEAT DOME" ...if only we can invent more new stupid terminology. Maybe we can cool the lingering HEAT DOME with an ATMOSPHERIC RIVER!!!!

Heat waves have not been increasing in intensity or frequency in the United States, which has by far the best meteorological data both spatially and temporally. Data from NOAA's Climate Reference Network shows no sustained increase in daily high temperatures in the United States since 2005 when that network began. In recent decades in the United States, heat waves have been far less severe than they were in the 1930s. At that time Heatwaves were more than 6 times worse with greater frequency and covering a larger area than the last decade (EPA). The most severe heatwave year was 1936, and was about 13 times worse than current.

Why does it seem like they are delivering breaking news on a tragic event? "Record heat in parts of the U.S" but fails name any specific place in the clip...only"several places around the country have hit new record highs". Yeah? Which parts?

Oh, no! Record heat?

It's because the atmosphere is thicker than usual above us. A strong high pressure system. Ideal gas law states that pressure and temperature are linearly proportional.

10% of starter crops lost 2 nights ago to a cold front's 31 low frost. Cool spring overall and only now getting warmer soil. Highs upper 70s, maybe 80s for a few hours before routine 40s - 50s lows. Near-record 99 forecast for Sunday then back to mid 80s. I did my time in Phoenix, L.A. and K.C. and at least in the West, will avoid going below the 45th. We can fry too, but only briefly.

Meanwhile, in the Pacific Northwest where it should be in the 90s now were barely in the 80s. We had a lousy spring again. It looks like a lousy summer. Where I live by the Fourth of July it’s around 96 and sometimes have reached 100.

We only have 83 as a high for the next ten days here in the northeast Tennessee mountains. That’s crazy you can go so much further north and be hotter but elevation plays a big part.
