Thanks for showing the Kadee couplers. I had never heard of those. The snow came off pretty easily. I never looked that close at the cars to see the different ways they attached. This is interesting Ken. Thanks for showing that. That is joyful to see then hook up! I think it's great to see each of them hook on to the back. You'll never have to mess with those cars again! Darn, the cars fell over. You gave it a try. Thanks for this video Ken. It was fun to watch. I look forward to the next one with another engine to pull it.

Hi Ken looks like there is a problem with the track where the derailment happened. I could see the green car shaking every time you added a car. Hope there was no hazardous chemicals involved with that derailment. 🤣 In my younger days I built a large layout in large room. When came time to move I tore it all down and packed it away in boxes where it has been for the last 40 years. Now I spend my retirement years restoring old radios.

Goodby Rapido couplers and hello magnetic couplers! You need to place the magnet under your track. Backing over the magnet will unhook the coupler. If your coupler heights are off they will uncouple also. Take a scotch bright and a little rubbing alcohol and clean your track.

As you get farther down the rabbit hole in model trains, you can buy Kaydees for passenger cars, the other thing is metal wheels roll so much better than plastic, and weights in the cars help, I can pull 35 cars but the locomotive struggle’s

Kadee 505 for your passengers cars . If you buy passenger cars that are streamlines need kadee 508. Go to a hobby store near you you also need a tool to bend to the the rod that hang down.

Kadee makes products for many of your problem cars. You may want to make them body mount instead of truck mounted.

Hi Ken, been following you fot a few videos. Recommrnd you review a vidro from Ron at Classic Model Trains: "Tune up that cheap rooling stock. Less than $8.00 to make em run like a High End car!". He covers weight, couplers, body mounts and wheels. He also has one on tunning passenger cars. Note: he has videos on other model railroading subjects you may enjoy. "Keep Having Fun!"

You have to body mount all your couplers on your cars. Plus you need to buy a height gage when you install the couplers on the cars.

You can get Kadee 232 Draft Gear box and Lid that will allow you mount the couplers to the body of the car, especially the passenger ones that you like. All you have to do is glue the boxes to the body. You might also want to invest in a Kadee cuopler height gauge to amke sure your couplers are the right height and prevent accidental uncoupling.

The magnetic system requires a coupled magnetic metal plate. You need a system for the magnetic Also it may be time to clean the trucks on your engine. The wheels will build up carbon and will need to be cleaned.

i have used the Kadee couplers before and loved them, they worked with the originals so the ones you cant change should work good with the Kadee. yes the weights matter a lot, also the alignment, should be a standard for the height of the coupler from the track but some car actually get lifted up if they are not weight right and then the flange of the wheel jumps over the track, cause coupler is a lil low. Reason you get a kick, cause modelling is like real, you want it to be almost real and coupling is a real thing really done

Look at your engines coupler. Odds are it’s not moving enough as the coupler box is not allowing it to sway as it’s fitted to the body of the engine.
