[⬇️TABS⬇️] Bass cover of Record of Ragnarok season 2 opening: Rude Loose Dance by Minami(美波). That one was probably the fastest slap bassline I've ever played, my arm hurts just from rewatching it. Anyway this is one of the best OP of the Season in my opinion, and I had a lot of fun arranging and playing it, I hope you'll like it!

You probably wouldn’t expect this but I really look up to you as a bass player! Everything from the songs you cover to the way you play is just amazing. If you don’t mind me asking, what were some of the main things you practiced to get to this point? Did you focus on any particular genres? And do you have any songs that beginners like me can study and learn from? Thank you! P.S. You have the coolest jazz bass I’ve ever seen! Keep making great content with it👍🏾

Thanks a lot man!! I started like you by being inspired by people online (mainly TMSW). I didn't really practice anything purposely, I always had fun learning the songs I liked, easy or hard, and eventually after a few years of playing hard songs my technique improved. At the beginning I was learning a lot of covers that were way too hard for me, but even if I sucked, it motivated me more than it discouraged me bc I wanted to learn those songs very badly! If you're learning by yourself, I think more important than having the right practice routine or the right songs, you should enjoy playing everyday. For comparison, I learned trumpet in music school for 10+years with practice routine, playing etudes and stuff but I never really enjoyed playing and as long as I remember, I never learned a single song outside of my curriculum. As a result I stopped playing, and my level was pretty bad compared to how long I've been playing. On the opposite side, I never practiced anything boring on bass, just learned the songs I loved and copied inspiring bass videos. When I like a song but not the bassline, I simply arrange my own bassline to enjoy it, and as a result, I have a pretty decent technique now! Conclusion : when I start a new instrument, instead of focusing on improving my technique as fast as possible by playing the right exercices or other stuff music teachers would tell you, I rather find musics and covers where I love what the instrument does and learn this. Don't care if it takes 2 months to learn bc it's hard, if I enjoy it I know I can keep going in the long run, and eventually after a few years become pretty good!

@@BassVolte Thank you so much for the response! I agree that having fun is the most important thing when learning an instrument. I should definitely prioritize learning songs that I actually like more than doing exercises and drills. Hopefully that helps me learn to play as well as you🙏🏾

@@GoodGod93 Hopefully you'll learn to play better than me 😉, it's only a matter of time ! For the record I've played bass for almost 7 years, and the last 4 years I'm around 2h a day. My technique is probably under what I could have achieved if I trained on exercices, scales etc everyday, but not sure I would've been able to be this consistent!

It's always great to learn difficult songs to progress faster but if you're a beginner this one is probably too hard for now. You can try with the tabs but I think the slap part is too advanced and you might get bad habits if you attempt it. This requires a movement you can't really train at slow tempo. If you're a complete beginner you can start learning rhcp slap basslines, it's contains a large variety of basic slap patterns that you'll need to learn and get to speed. However as I always say, if you're having fun learning this one, even at a slow tempo like 0.25speed you'll learn something out of it. Also you should record yourself to hear what you sound like, at the beginning I played fast basslines but they didn't sound good, I had a bad technique because I wanted to play too fast. Getting good at an instrument takes time and there's no shortcut my dude, the secret will always be consistency!
