Fort Worth-based Sky Elements used 1,002 drones with LEDs to light up the sky in North Richland Hills Monday night. The show earned a Guinness World Record for the “largest aerial sentence formed by multirotor/drones.” #news #drones #northrichlandhills

I always wished the us did more drone shows instead of fireworks. I watched drone shows around the world on new years and I have to say they’re SO MUCH COOLER

It's somewhat of a new concept. And the difficultly/precision is more than a pyrotechnic show. Combining both is not a bad idea but expensive

As a vet who owns a bunch of dogs, I can say my whole household would appreciate a lack of "boom" on the 4th, I mean-- I get it and we all prepare for it the best we can on our end... but if we did drone shows we might actually go out and appreciate the 4th instead of bunkering up in the most sound dampening room in the house and binge watching shows I don't even want to binge watch just to avoid the boom.

Sometimes when life is really hard, people just need a reason to celebrate the small things in life. That was awesome and I really hope this idea spreads. I used to LOVE going to live fireworks displays but I hit the deck now whenever I hear one I'm not expecting and it ruins it for everyone. So I stay home and watch them on TV with low volume. This however, this would allow me to rejoin everyone into the best part of the evening ❤

"nothing beats this" ... until you got overcast skies or clouds passing by. Nothing beats actual fireworks, the smell, the smoke, the bang, it is all a part of it and what makes it so spectacular. It's also what 4th of July is partially about: watching fireworks.

Drones are creepy. Police drones are creepy. Private drones are creepier. Drones in formation writing messages are boring. Give me the flash bang and concussion of a real fireworks show. Drones run on rechargible batteries. Carbon footprint a really small fraction of fireworks. And although there’s currently a high level of misdirected patriotism in this country, I disagree that celebrating our independence is that.
