I was working on some scratches for a project/job and decided to record a part of the process for djTLMtv to give you a sneak peek.
In this case I have a raw basic version of the beat and I am going to add several layers of scratches and then send those back to the producer of the song. He will then use certain parts and place them into his song. This is going to be the new release for the Dutch DJ duo Moombahteam. I have already heard the latest version of the song and it's a banger! It will be released in a couple of weeks.
Because this is not my own project I can only show you a small part of the process, but in the (near) future I can show you the whole process when I'm working on one of my own projects.
Hardware/software used in this video:
- Vestax PDX3000 turntables
- Vestax PMC05-Pro4 scratch mixer
- Macbook (2007)
- Serato Scratch Live
- Cubase 6 (recording)
- Mac Pro (2007)
Enjoy the video and share the knowledge!

Hi guys, Due to health issues I couldn't finish video's I was working on (NS7-2 review) and I can't record new video's either. I lost my voice over the weekend and that makes it a bit difficult to record stuff ;) I should be fine in a couple of days so stay tuned! For the DJ's who would like to be part of the Saturday Super Session: Join the Saturday Super Session and send me your own video!

Started watching you a couple weeks ago just starting out at 21 (Too old?) anyways great helpful videos I appreciate the time and effort you put into it. I had a question I was hoping you could answer. I'm now going into record stores and kind of crate dig, but i was wondering since I just got this World Class Wreckin Cru record and there's scratching on there should I not use it since its already "DJ'd" in a sense? And as far as clubs go is it a no-go to play another DJ's song in your set like a mainstream one on the radio? Thanks for all the help.

I noticed you are using timecode vinyls so I'm curious to know how you set up your DAW and mixer before recording... also how do you manage to only capture the sound of the scratch and not of the actual song playing? Sorry for this noob questions but I haven't managed to get it to work

Can you make a tutorial special for cutting en scratching vocals? Most tutorials use the standard scratchsounds and samples but when you try to scratch and cut vocals it seems to be a different ballgame...

djTLMtv could you make a video on what you should put on your mixes/mixtapes (besides songs obviously) for example is it ok to use to use affects and beat juggling etc. Im confused because i dont know weather i should showcase my skills as a dj on the mix or if i should just make a decent mix that you can just sit back to relax and listen rather than putting a bunch of "yo check out what a cool dj i am" stuff on there

Why the whole mixing table wobbles... I think the equipment must remain in place...not wobbles..
@djTLMtv
@djTLMtv 10 жыл бұрын
The DJ stand isn't that steady, but the equipment isn't moving that much. It's mostly my old laptop screen that is just too loose so it moves a lot. Because of that the camera that was on top of it is also moving a lot. But a good DJ stand should not move at all. You are 100% right about that
