There's a lot of weird ASMR out there so get how you don't feel comfortable doing it, but I think most folks would agree your style fits more of the "unintentional ASMR" genre, which isn't any of that strange stuff. Some examples of ASMR vids I would love from you: drawing action figure ideas, reading through an old toy magazine, taking apart / assembling action figures, etc. Just keep the loud sounds and music out and do something rather mundane for 20+ minutes, and baby you've got an ASMR video. Love your content Crafsman!

I thought it was funny when he mentioned ASMR making himself uncomfortable because he was the reason I got into some ASMR channels. After I finished all of his videos, I went on a the hunt for something similar and ended up on Moonlight Cottage ASMR... Then the YT algorithm took over lol. It's hit or miss whether I like any ASMR but I definitely prefer stuff like this where there's actually something happening and not just some guy/girl in front of a mic with bubble wrap for 30 minutes lol.

@@AdamRoss30 Oh my goodness SAAAME! And I mean exactly! I was looking up spoon ring bending and one of craftmans videos was suggested. His voice and movements, the sounds, the simplicity and efficiency, it all combined to make me feel like tingly pudding! I subscribed immediately and after getting caught up on all his videos, I went on an asmr search and one of the channels I like is Moonlight cottage! I dont really care for the bubble wrap videos myself, I like the sound of wood and woodworking, drawing or writing on paper, and quiet and steady tinkering.

I like the fact you dont have too many soundeffects in the video. especially loud ones. You're like Bob ross to me. Chill voice and a master at his craft. It's pure and therefor super enjoyable. There are hundres of people overusing soundeffects on youtube, but very few manage to create such a high quality feel for a show with using so FEW as you do. I fully support your decision to add sound effects to future videos - but please don't forget to maintain that simple audio character of your show which makes you channel unique.

I am a fan of ASMR but not all of it, sometimes it's just the difference between closing your eyes and just listening. For me, it brings back relaxing memories. When you dig through your drawers for just the right component, the sound of the items shuffling, the items rolling, dropping and shifting, the quiet humpfs as you don't find the right thing and move on to the next spot in your drawer or the opening swoosh of the next drawer to start the process all over, it reminds me of my dad when I would help him in his workshop. BTW, you have never sounded like a serial killer, that's just crazy talk.

Man, the price of even "entry level" audio gear is heart-wrenching. But I guess if you're gonna get serious about it, it's an investment. "Buy once, cry once" as they say! As for a sound booth; you can makeshift something quick with some heavy curtains, blankets or towels; hang 'em up or make a tent out of 'em. Soft fuzzy surfaces with wavy angles absorb and spread out sounds. It really doesn't take much to soften an echoy room!
