Thanks for the video! I've been on the fence about upgrading/buying MPC2. Im definitely not buying pro tools, too expensive and the sub is $$$. I use two separate softwares... 1 for beats and another for vocals. I need to consolidate.... The regular mpc beats limits to 2 audio tracks, im glad this has more tracks

First, thank you for your videos and the time that you put into them, I discovered the MPC software about 3 weeks ago, and your videos have been vital. 👍🏾 I wanted to ask for your help. I have two USB microphones that I'm having trouble connecting to the MPC Software. One is an older (Blue Spark Digital -USB) And one I just purchased, the AKG Lyra. The output on both microphones work with the MPC software. But when I try to connect the Input in the MPC preferences, I get an error message saying that the sample rates don't match. Both of them use the standard Windows USB Audio / Microphone driver, they don't come with their own drivers. IN Windows 10 you have the ability to adjust the sample rate for USB Microphone devices. I set both the output, and the microphone input at 24-Bit 48K, hit apply changes, go back into the MPC software, And I'm still getting the error message. Any ideas? The AKG Lyra can go from 16 bit 44.1 up to 24 bit 192K. 24-bit 48K It's sufficient for my needs at this point. I don't want to have to resort to using ASIO For All. And for full disclosure, I DO have an audio interface (RME FireFace USB, which has XLR inputs, and I have several XLR condenser microphones). However, for writing, I prefer using the USB microphone, because it's quick, and easy to record ideas, versus setting up my microphone every time I want to write. One more thing, both of these microphones work with my other software, such as Logic X (when I boot into the Mac partition) and Nuendo / Cubase on Windows. So it seems like an issue with the MPC software. Any advice you could offer would be truly appreciated. Thank you! Keep up the great work. 👍🏾

Hi Matthew…I need some help. I connected a digitone to a mpc x using a usb cable. Then I launched the mpc software and was able to launch Overbridge as a plugin inside in the MPC software. Overbridge connected perfectly with the Digitone but I’m still unable to get the digitone sound inside the mpc software. The usb cable is the only connection between the mpc x & the digitone. Thank you

Contemplating buying MPC2 for vocal recording as well, and have been searing online for AUTOTUNE compatibility. Would you know if it is in fact compatible? Also, is the number of audio tracks restricted to only 8, or is it unlimited?

Hi, I'm rather new to the MPC software and you helped me a lot already, but now I'm at a dead end. No matter if I'm recording guitar or vocals, I have a terrible echo effect on top of my audio track that I can't find the reason for. Do you have an idea how I could eliminate that? It's been like that from day one, on both PCs that I've installed MPC beats on.

HELLO :) Can you help me? I have Waves Tune real time and I want to program it with mk3 controller, that is to sing and play midi to operate the Waves plug. I saw someone doing it on antaress recording in logic pro while I have MPC beats and I would like to set it up like that, but I can't. Every time I try to record a song like this I can either use the keys or sing :( I would like to sing to the keys so that waves would tune my poor vocal using the midi as a key. I have an mpc x, can I use the mpc 2.0 software side with my usb mixer 14in 12 out usb to use as a daw like pro tools or logic ? And select different channels from the mixer to record from ?

Yeah you can use a usb mixer. You can select the input to record from for each track in the inspector. Up to 32 channels are selectable though I haven’t tested recording with 32 channels. You can select the output per track up to 32 outputs are selectable.

Could be, also buffer size. Higher the sample rate = less latency. Lower buffer size = Less latency.

From some videos i have learnt how to use warp function to sync 2 samples BPM in the Audio section....... But the warp function is not available in MIDI section....so from the videos on KZfaq i saw that they are talking about Time Stretch and told how to do it to a sample.... But... Many times when i time strech a sample according to the method described in those videos ... The sample plays too fast or too slow......so it's far from being in sync with the other sounds playing in MIDI and Audio section....... I am not sure if you have already made a video on this...... So yeah i hope u can give some knowledge on this topic.......

Hey brother howz it going....... When we record in the Audio section or let's say we put any sound or loop /drum beat etc etc. In the Audio section..... And we use the scissors tool to cut into different parts ..... How to put plug in effects in the particular part that we want , and not the whole track...... Coz according to what i have learnt till now when i put a plug in effect it works on whole track.......

Hope u hit me back soon brother man.. brother still waiting for that information about how to record vocals and what kind of effects can be put and how...... specially how to put the auto tune effect on particular part of the song/full song.. And i have another question on mind. I am recording my vocals on a beat.......i am using my macbook pro inbuilt mic for recording......but when i record and rhyme/sing with the beat it's always recording like a split or half second later than the beat.......even when I'm rhyming/singing right on the beat the recording is half second late...... And the sound of vocals is recorded pretty low...... What do u think , is it due to my slow processer in laptop or something like that.....or it can fixed by some. Settings in the mpc beats software....... And one more thing ....when I'm playing the recorded vocals and beats together they are not in sync like i told u before .....AND the vocals sound like they are in a totally different layer of sound and the beats in a different layer of sound ......, not sounding like all sounds vocals mixed properly to sound like a normal track.........if u can understand wat i mean..... I'm assuming getting a proper microphone will obviously increase the quality of vocals .. but is a proper microphone enough or do i need an audio interface?? like someone suggested me.... Will audio interface work on my old macbook pro ??

Awesome job. I was just wondering...I record my voice, but it's no saying anything. Or it's sounds blank, although I do see the sound waves 🤔 Do I have to save it, if so how. Do as have to then put into the beats sequence and just let it go through there. Or sorry, Lol, do I just push a button so sounds come out. It may be my Serum sucking up juice, Lol. I am not sure.

Check your monitor options on your audio track channel strip. If you has it set to IN it will not play the file your recorded. Try to turn monitor off.

You need the Full MPC 2 software. MPC Beats is basically MPC lite.

Did you select the correct input that your microphone is plugged into. Sounds like a mono source, make sure you select only the one channel when selecting input for audio track.

Thanks for the feedback. There are advantages in using the software, like 3rd party plugins and being about to use the mic preamps on an audio interface. Wouldn't have been able to use my mic without an external preamp on the MPC One and MPC Live 2. Thanks again.

Thanks for the reply, to be honest it’s a personal thing. To me MPC beats looks so messy akai really need to clean up the interface, I don’t think it has to look so busy. @@trevormalcolm4328 My last MPC was an MPC 2500 which I stopped using years ago for DAW's, I didn't even know this software existed until 2 weeks ago when my father told me about it, coming from an MPC 2500, I found the workflow simple and familiar, and I love all the extra features that they've added over the years, like the piano roll, the ability to record audio, and not being constrained by sample time, or hard drive space, because you're using a CPU. I was able to figure out the software quickly based on my past use of the MPC 2500, which was quite rudimentary compared to the software. Give it a shot, it's really solid software, Akai Did a great job with this. Good luck 👍🏾

why is nobody explaining how to get the vocal track to simply appear lmao ??? how do i add a vocal track ? this didnt work for me

All you have to do is go to the audio tab at the top left of the screen to get to audio tracks. By default it is on MIDI tracks.
