I have known of Kurt for many years. Never yet bought any records from him, but he has a stunning wealth of material and much knowledge that is nearly priceless. Even his auction catalogs can be used for reference. A wonderful enterprise.

Just Incredible all of it, so much to take in. Thank you so much for the two video's and also for mr Nauck for showing "us" around!. I have around 70 or so 78 rpm records some from the Acoustic recording thru to electronic recordings (Microphones) and periods from 1920s to late 1950s here in the UK. The Record player for them is a British Garrard turntable built into a wood cabinet with built in Elac Speaker and Mono amplifier and Elac Mono Cartridge, Flip over type for 78s one side and modern Vinyl the other . the unit is British built by "Goodsell" a company from Southampton UK, and was made for use in Schools which is where it came from.

Even as a longtime collector of 78s and other early sound recordings… there is so much stuff in this video alone I have never even heard of before. This is truly amazing. Those early brown wax Columbia discs might be my new grail!

Blown away by this 2nd video. As one of the commentators said, I will have to revisit 78's. I like lots of different types of music. I love rock (Status Quo to Gun's n Roses) I love Sinatra and Glenn Miller and I have bought two collections of 78's. Fats Waller and Bing Crosby. What would be interesting would be to compare one of these classic artists on CD, vinyl, and shellac and see which format sounds best. Modern remixing and remastering can be a disaster .....Oh love that fabulous picture disc. I wonder who the beautiful lady was. Also loved the music box with the metal disc. I think that's called a Polyphon.

I truly enjoyed and learned a lot from this two part video. Kurt Nauks facility is more like a museum than a business. He certainly has a lot of unique items. I had no idea that 78’s, cylinder recordings, and many other early recordings could be a basis for a successful business. Kurt is a super nice guy to share his knowledge and inventory with you and your KZfaq channel. And he even bought you dinner!

I've got one, too. When you can afford it, change the green stylus (VM 95E) for an orange stylus (VM 95EN). The E (elliptical) is good. The EN (elliptical nude) makes so much difference.

He has such a high appreciation and knowledge about everything, that is amazing. I am stunned by that, to see it, but I fear that not many people really value those kind of devices (not really collectors items, more a museum piece). I can appreciate the history but I am not from this age, I cannot really "do" anything with that, so it feels more like a museum of things nobody will ever use again or that you can see displayed anywhere, but not really have any connection to it, because you never use it, you never had it yourself and the taste of music and everything changed too much to be relevant today, except for historic purpose. A bit sad, but it is like that. I love the small metal disc spinning making those songs, those are still cool in some way, because it is easy to understand technology with good results, a complete different type or music reproduction.

No Stefan, these items are not irrelevant. There are collectors around the world who play these records and love the music. You should listen to the music of the past. Compared to the music of today, . . . well, there is no comparison to the music of today, unfortunately.
