I am new to vinyl. I recently purchased this turntable, it came with speakers and cleaning tools. It just doesn’t have bluetooth. I am really really enjoying it though. My friends who don’t have a turntable are even buying records just to come over and play them.

I don’t know why more people aren’t talking about the AT-LPGO-BT, which to me is indistinguishable from the AT-LP60X-BT and $60+ cheaper only because it’s sold exclusively at Walmart. This is the one I recommend to turntable newbies (along with some Edifier R1280T speakers) who want the best return on a relatively small investment. That being said, I agree with you 100%; love all of my AT turntables!

I've shopped for this turntable,two different times, & put it in a cart twice, but changed my mind. It really sounds good, especially with headphones 🎧 on. My first turntable was the Teac version of this, purchased for 99.99 in 1998 at Service Merchandise. I went down the vintage rabbit hole with a few that were equivalent in sound quality but with maintenance issues, and I'm just now at an lp120

Bought mine in june of 2022. Served me well for a long time, it was an easy to use compact little machine, but I waved goodbye to it early this year. Because I treated myself with the amazing LP120X, can't recommend it enough. I have it paired with the Edifier R1000T4 speakers, the setup sounds amazing to my ears (I previously had my LP60X hooked up to some cheap Logitech PC speakers lol)

the speakers were the problem and not the turntable. i have lp60 with a sound bar and it sounds awesome. i prefer have the automatic lp60 personally. i saw the lp120 and dont feel like i need to change for a manual turntable at all. it would be a downgrade to me even if maybe the sound is a bit better due to the better needle on the lp120. i like just having to put my vinyl on and click a button and have it all done automatic.

I used a LP60X for a bit, but found the one I bought would skip randomly on certain records. There is no way to adjust it either. I switched to an LP3 and it plays the same records flawlessly with no skips. A good starter turntable for sure. My friend has been using one for three years now and his doesn't have the skipping issue mine had.

This is almost exactly what I have. I got an atlp5 for a multitude of reasons: I wanted to play shellacs (I swap out the headshells) and I wanted to download via usb to keep my rare shellacs on my hard drive. I didn’t want high spec, though I could’ve afforded it, and I haven’t dabbled in preamp, amp, speaker yet, currently just plug it into my cd/cassette deck and that’s good enough for Me. Maybe in 20 years or so, I might upgrade, but for a condensed record setup, it’s my dream and I’m not currently looking for an upgrade.

I have had mine for about 5 years and it served me well as I got back into vinyl. Recently upgraded my entire home system and went with the new Pro-ject T2 Superphono. Talk about a step up in sound and quality. While I am no audiophile, this turntable is good balance between HiFi and not budget busting (650 at Crutchfield).

I agree that the AT-LP60 (in its various iterations) is the best entry-level turntable. My turntables currently in use are also Audio-Technica but higher tier models. However, I have my parents' old AT-LP60, which was an earlier model without Bluetooth. It's presently stored in the basement, but I eventually plan to use it when I put together a third stereo system for use in the basement.

I’ve got this exact model. I wanted Bluetooth despite the drop in audio quality because space is a premium right now and I couldn’t have a dedicated set of speakers for it. So it’s linked up to my BAR 500 which to me sounds great! I never adjusted the speed though, it seemed ok but I might investigate that just to be sure. 👍

I'd say it would be an excellent starter turntable. Adjusting the speeds does look awkward, however - and if it got knocked while you had it up on the polystyrene blocks and it fell off, I guess there could be a lot of damage.

I don't use it anymore but the one I had wanted to play too fast, mostly noticeable on 45. Stopped using it before I got around to messing around with the speed adj. on the bottom. Otherwise, for the money, it was an OK turntable. Sounded great plugged into my BOSE Companion 2 speakers. I use it as a platform for my record cleaning now.

I have this turntable with blue tooth. It sits on a shelf below my U-Turn Orbit Plus. I love it as a backup to the Orbit and it was my entry level TT. I spin an album on it every now and then and it sounds great. I like the BT feature and being fully automatic as I can listen in another room through my BT headphones and not have to worry about shutting it down, unlike the U-Turn. To be honest, the audio quality between these turntables is minimal to my old ears. In hindsight, I should have skipped the $$$ I spent on the U-Turn and just enjoyed this little beast.

The speed trimmers at the bottom were always absolutely essential for the LP60X's ability to spin records at the accurate speed. Not the most convenient as Record-ology says, but I found that this is best achieved with the use of a strobe disc on Record-ology's instruction. Then, upgrade the conical stylus to an elliptical and be an acrylic man like our Record-ology friend here, (both his and Rick Coste's favourite playing surface.)

@Jammerk40
@Jammerk40 5 ай бұрын
Well first of all they make the speed a little faster because when you add a LP record it adds weight and that compensates the speed to the correct speed! Now on 45 rpm they should have this at the right speed! Also once in awhile take the belt off and clean it with Alcohol rubbing type 70%. Just a paper towal and a dab of Alcohol and pull the belt through and you will see some dirt! and also where the belt rides clean that too! This will keep your machine running correctly! Hope this helps!
@Recordology
@Recordology 5 ай бұрын
Its usually a set it and forget it type of thing. Every few years it may need another adjustment. The motor may drift over time, the belt may stretch, etc. Don't worry about it....its not a huge problem.

Well not really 2009, as it is heavily based on a turntable dating back to the mid 1990s sold under the Aiwa, Sony and through Radio Shack, Optimus and later RCA. Audio Technica initially introduced this at the AT-PL50 in the late 90s. In most cases the basic mechanism is interchangeable. Essentially the mechanism is also shared on the At-Lp3xbt (as I repaired an LP3 switching the loose spindle bearing with an AT-LP60 with a bad motor). Not sure if I would call it long in the tooth as it serves it's purpose as sounds reasonably good. It's not perfect (it could track a little better), but at that price point there are always going to be compromises.

Fluance RT81. Don't buy the LP60x. It's the inability to change the cartridge that really ruins this TT. I own an LP60 and have it hooked up to a serious rig (Denon stereo receiver, JBL speakers, Velodyne sub). The sound quality is good, almost great even. I recommend upgrading nearly everything you can on the LP60, such as the cable, platter mat, and 45 adapter. LP Gear has two "improved" needles for this unit which are the only upgrades I'm aware of for stylus.

I like a massive, non-resonant plinth. MDF or acrylic preferred. The hollow space required for all those mechanisms make this problematic or impossible as far as I know… at least at my budget! Totally understand if auto or semi-auto features are more important to you, they were to me at one point as well. Some even prefer the bit of resonance you may get from a more hollow plinth. It’s great to have lots of choices!

Just don't have a good feeling about this. Looks cheap and plastic. Speed controls being underneath is just ridiculous. No RCA? Just feels cheap and nasty.
