I watched your video regarding data recovery. In my case, I accidentally formatted the external drive using an HP printer and subsequently added 6 documents to it. When I connect the drive to my Mac, it appears as unreadable. The total size of the external drive is 162GB.

Please help! At the last step of choosing where to save the recovered file, I couldn't see any of my internal or external drive's directory. I had lost all files from external hard drive E after formatting it mistakenly instead of drive F. Below, there's a note saying "Series no. WXF1E32UDMX1" just above a reminder that Disk capacity must be correctly detected for a successful recovery .

There are several reasons why a removable disk may not be showing up on your computer. Sometimes, drive letters can conflict, and the drive may not show up. Right-click on "This PC" or "Computer" on your desktop and choose "Manage." Under "Storage," select "Disk Management." Look for your removable disk, right-click on it, and assign it a new drive letter. Or, Outdated or corrupt USB drivers can cause issues. Update your USB drivers. All the best!
