Handle is made out of mahogany, dyed with Angelus winetone leather dye, finished with shellac. The leather washers are made out of 8-9 oz veg-tanned leather with some acrylic leather finish.

I agree with the other comment, nicely done. Making chisel handles is one of my favorite things. Enjoyed this video.

The Stanley 7xx series handles are were made from hickory. Dyed or toner was used to get that iconic stanley color

Do you by any chance have the small and large diameter of the taper? I have an old chisel without a handle, so I have nothing to copy)

Crumple up some aluminum foil and stuff it into the socket to make a positive form of the socket.

What the over all length of the handle? I need to make one and don't have an old one to look at.

About 4 1/2 inches. Including the socket taper which is about 1 inch.

Angelus leather dye, they are great dyes for wood! What color you use depends on the wood. So I'd experiment with a couple colors.
