I've gotten Durock V2s to work in my Bakeneko60, 65 and Portal65 by taking a belt sander to the screw housing side until it just shaved into the screw hole. It's a game of chicken because if you overcook it the screw hole pops out, but no more scratchy binding Cherry stabs makes it worth. The gummy o ring will be tighter, and in the case of my Kikkou I couldn't use Durock. I'll definitely look into the TX snap ins though.

I got screw in stabs to work by grinding notches in the side of the case wall at the 4 spots where to screws are located. So the O-ring has clearance inside of the case wall.

I almost never use those dome shaped bumpons. Just use cheap furniture anti slip pads from amazon. More surface area to contact the desk creates a better sound imo

I'm not sure many know about the 60% flex PCB (solder) that exists and works with the Tofu 60 case.

I feel like the tofu needs a refresh to be purely gummy O ring mount and have the standoff removed. They have the DZ60 flex pcb to go with so it would make sense IMO.

There is finally a refresh, and they did not the gummy o-ring way. It now has three different mounting styles. And gummy aint one :(

Oh man, if tofu 60 is the endgame keyboard, I should have been ended my game two years ago. After tofu, my second keyboard was Pixel Studio TKL, top mount, spent $420 for an extra after GB, because I liked the retro design, but I had no idea what is top mount, no DB for that keyboard, I could feel the stiffness as my tofu 60. Now I am looking for a good soft 65% or 70%, but I feel the TKL is getting popular now. I believe because most studios have made their 60% and hesitated to make R2 version, that makes the TKL more and more popular because of the market potential.

i do think TKL is coming back strong in 2022. 60% is def more niche.

@@AndyVNguyen Thank you for sharing your opinion, I just pre ordered a Tiger lite because your video haha. That will be my first gasket mount keyboard, I want to try something different like soft typing experience before I invest a high end keyboard.

That's odd, I have the tofu65 and it has a weight on the bottom. Makes it sound better for sure, even with the bump ons.

i have a tofukorn and the only way to remove that signature tofu ping w/o compromising flex was to use polyfill or cotton balls but still newer tofu60 cases have a new usb cutout that makes contact with the dz60's usb port when assembled and that creates a small ping around the esc key area which pretty sucks because i cant find a workaround for that w/o drilling more holes in the case

if force break mod works for 2-piece alu cases, maybe you could try a variation of that on your usb hole or something to address the metal contact points which are causing ping

I had to modify the usb port hole on my Tofu case. This helped with the ping issue I couldn't solve before. But then I realized you can get by without any case foam, etc. if you do the tape mod and wrap it up along the sides to fill the gap between the PCB and plate. Currently, I'm using a solder-able flex cut 60% PCB that works perfeclty in the Tofu 60. Using a light layer of tape (trimmed where the flex cuts are) and some polyfill. The flex is unreal and the sound is very pleasing.

The merro60 pcb is curretly sold out and I am wondering if u know when the merro60 will be back in stock. If it wont be put back in stock, are there any alternative pcbs that I can use for tofu60 gummy o-ring mount (preferably solderable and qmk and via compatible)?

I actually bought a brass weight off Amazon and put it where the battery would go as well as some pennies and that took away the majority if not all of the ping

What did you mean when you said that Staebies need modding? In my experience both staebies and tx stabs are great with 205g0 on housing and minimal xht bdz on wires
