Waste, trash and rubbish overwhelm our planet. What solutions can we find for the environmental destruction and pollution everywhere? The composer and conductor Gregor A. Mayrhofer saw this as an opportunity to make a creative musical statement and composed the
RECYCLING CONCERTO
for recycled percussion and orchestra
dedicated to the young percussionist Vivi Vassileva
Various new percussion instruments were developed for the piece, all made from recycled materials.
For example: a "BOTTLERIMBA" (Marimba made of recycled PLASTIC BOTTLES),
a GLASS BOTTLE - vibraphone, COFFEE CAPSULE - chimes and many more instruments made uniquely of recycled material.
The Recycling Concerto can even include local trash of the cities in which the concert will be played and so connect an ecological subject with a completely new musical experience.
