Here are three major defensive structures that you meet only in the campaigns. Those structures can be added in any map through a map editor maintaining their abilities.
• Paris Tower
The Paris Tower is found in the filth mission "City of Lights " of the Soviet Campaign in RA2. It's one of the most memorable missions with the "giant" tesla coil. In-game this is perhaps the most terrifying structure since it has a very long range, extreme attack speed and outstanding damage.
• Mayan Pyramid
The Mayan Pyramid is found in the ninth mission "Sun Temple" of the Allied campaign in RA2. It's an effort of the Soviets to replicate the Prism technology. The Mayan Pyramid is a much better version of the Prism Tower being one of the best towers in the entire game.
• Yuri Statue
The Yuri Statue is found in the fifth mission "Escape Velocity" of the Soviet campaign in YR. The Statue has a shape of Yuri's face and is equal in damage with a Prism tower. However, it attacks much faster and is a much more durable building. Between these three structures, Yuri's Statue can't be compared with the power of the other two.

Yes, but I don't know if elite MIGs may surpass the dreadnought in damage (it is also difficult to consider if 1 MIG or the 4 of them that comes in elite)

Always loved and admired how well Westwood animated the destruction of the famous landmarks like the Paris Tower... I mean look at the way it falls down - thats a pinnacle in the 2D animation IMO

Ah, yes. Red Alert 2 and Yuri's Revenge. The only RTS games where the Eiffel Tower, the Mayan Pyramids and the statues in Easter Island serve as defence structures. Now the only thing we need to make the Statue of Liberty into a weapon that throws bombs of liberty.

@@goldman1115 all RA2:YR tournament matches is Yuri vs Yuri matches. And yeah, there's no counter to magnetron juggling your tanks, or Gatling + mastermind combo. And also all Yuri units (including ore miner) stronger than it's analogs from other sides, except lasher tank which is basically grisly. So yes, Yuri is OP.

I'm pretty partial with the who "Yuri OP" situation. The reason why Soviets are high in the tier list, especially playing Iraq(the only one top tier players choose anyway) is because of how fast they can get a hold of superior workhorse units, the Rhino Tank and Desolator. Which has a strict, but easy to follow, but hard to master strategy. Granularly, it boils down to the skill of Tank control, redirecting damage to cannon fodder units and Desolator micro. However the tables turn once a Yuri player stalls long enough(which is very difficult) for Battle Lab tech. Since the only counter to Masterminds is air units which is countered by gatling tanks. Yuri deathball(Magnetron, Gatling, Mastermind) is really tough and not a lot people will bother countering it because it's too strong. Yes, the mastermind overloads but those are tanks not under your control. Gatling Tanks shred cannon fodder, and Magnetrons if micro'd correctly is pretty annoying to deal with because again these are tanks out of your control. These are in the assumption if the Yuri player is at this skill level though.

I think the Tesla troopers when they charge the Eiffel tower give it more range not more power. I think that's what I remember from the campaign mission but you might have to double check that.

@@ImaginaryNumb3r Yeah, if only one. However, you don't build only one Prism Tanks or Magnetrons. You build many of them. The Eiffel Tower has long range, fast fire rate and can take a couple of damage. Anyone can figure out the rest.

Ironically the mod Triple Power 3.0 (A mod made by a Thai guy) that I'm playing, Yuri's Statue is a one shot kill. The modders buffed it. Also if you cap a Secret Lab in that mod it will allow you to build one of these three monstrosities depending on your faction. The cost is 100,000 bucks and takes a long time to build. Another thing is you can move the MCV to the enemy base and make sure the building is ready, unpack your MCV and place it boom player defeated.

Game data-wise, the Chrono Legionaire's attack erases an object based on their max hp. The Mayan Pyramid has less max HP than the other structures but can resist nukes due to Armor typing.

@@dracmeister Hi! I agree completely with you, I know the mechanism; but in general chrono legionaire's weapon is "time", theoretically. They can make things like "they never existed" and so on. Thus, the "older" the unit is it should vanish them in longer time comparing to "young units". I know that mechanism is based on max HP, but I was just wondering about theory behind time aspect. :) Alternatively, it could be that Chrono units are vanishing units depending on normalized production time in respective building, which is usually correlated with health: conscript is disappearing much faster comparing to apocalypse tank. Maybe in game script it is somehow defined how long does it take even for fancy "things" like Eiffel Tower, Mayan tower and Yuri tower to spawn? And that might answer the question, why Mayan tower is disappearing first comparing to rest: not max HP, but built-in-game spawn time? Thanks for answer! Cheers!

It makes sense. Both Eiffel Tower and Mayan Pyramid are supposed to be OP and late in their levels, helping you win, while the Yuri Statue is supposed to be an obstacle to overcome, which should be quite possible even with head-on attack. Pyramid also has some weird armor types with that Nuke Resistance.

Imagine in multiplayer these defensive structures can be built by player. Also in RA2 Mayan tower in mission 9 has 100 power cost. It’s interesting to see Mayan tower costs no power in YR.

The Mayan Tower is made of "concrete armor" (lol), which is why different attacks destroyed them at different times. The Apocalypse does reduced damage to concrete (full to the rest) while the Prism indiscriminately does 2x to all structures. It can be inferred that the Mayan Tower has less HP than the others, but the others are non-concrete structures, making the Apoc kill them more quickly than the Prism. They both excel against structures, but while Prisms hit concrete harder, Apocs do more DPS to wood and steel.

If I may suggest....building range. I remember that a taken over yuri tower have a building radius. There's another defensivable structure that can be taken over: tech repair pad. Can I ask about where you get this mod?. Would be fun if yuri can build that head tower.

Idea for testing: I noticed a few times, that the elite IFV (no unit inside) changes the attack explosion animation when aquiring the "firepower upgrade" crate, and I noticed that change with the elite Prism tank as well. Are there any other elite units that change attack animation when they have that power crate? Please test :)

What did we learn about the Mayan Towers.... 1. Use its own weapon against them...nukes? Noooo you must use Prism tanks to destroy theeeeem! 2. YR ones are broken. In vanilla Red Alert 2 they do not function without power. 3. Soviets can handle prism tech much better than the Allies...good thing they never get to use them...or a bad thing? Depends on which side you look at it from.

I'm guessing that the Prism Tower's charge-up sequence is what causes it to fire slower and giving any unit the weapon skips that second of charge. I think the support thing is a secondary weapon. Every unit can have up to two weapons.

It is interesting to note that The Paris Tower differs significantly from its real-life counterpart, sporting round platforms instead of rectangular ones and having three legs instead of four, thus being called the Paris Tower instead of the Eiffel Tower. I wonder why the devs did that since it's likeness is in the public domain?

Just edit the game files so the building appears in the players faction build list. Have never modded RA YR but I have done a little modding on ZH . First you get a tool to read the game file database. In ZH if you cloned a civilian building, like the nuclear power plant into a faction file like the factionbuilding.ini for the America faction and renamed it as a new name, then added it into commandset.ini and commandbutton.ini with the corresponding name, then you'd get your new cloned unit. It would work similarly to that, but based on RA2's own game file structuring. Adding new units is a far more labour intensive.

They don't do anything. What they do in missions is scripted; everything from your units changing owner down to the lighting is scripted.

After completing the ninth mission for the Allies in the original Red Alert 2, I want to know: Why in subsequent missions you can’t build these excellent prism towers?!

Because they were destroyed, rather than captured, by allies.

@@bormisha Even if the Allies destroyed the prototypes themselves, did they burn the drawings? From the point of view of warfare, it sounds absurd to completely abandon the defensive structure, which alone will cope with the whole offensive of the "Apocalypses".

Which is funny, in campaigns, you only need two or three prism towers linked up to OHKO Apocalypse Tanks. In Skirmish, you need 7 to OHKO an Apocalypse tank.

@арсений меньшов, they also burned the drawings under the threat of the towers being recaptured by Soviets. Remember, the whole assault was made by a team of SEALs. Even if they captured and energized the prism towers, there is no defense that cannot be overwhelmed. Perhaps the Soviets sent a large army to reclaim the prism towers, so the SEALs had to C4 everything and retreat.

Why it is that different units put different damages on these structures? Like while apocalypse destroys these three towers at the same time Kirov's bombs destroy Eiffel almost in an instant, but not the two other.

on kirov it's blast radius effect eiffel tower more that other two eiffel tower has 4x4, kirov bomb do damage 1 square form middle it's mean that eiffel get damage 5 times while, mayan is 2x3 that get damage most possible is 4 times, and statue is 2x2 that will get damage most possible is 3 times.

I it's based on armor type. For example mayan statue easily withstandts a nuke, eve though having less health than Eiffel tower.
