Dive into the adrenaline-fueled action of yesterday's Best Trick Session at the abandoned airport terminal in New Orleans, where Red Bull hosted the Terminal Takeover! Unfortunately, our host Jason sustained an injury after showcasing insane tricks all weekend, breaking his leg while attempting a fs flip into the bank. But fear not, as Jake Wooten stepped up to take over hosting duties for this video. From the highest sticker contest on the vert wall to the longest grind and a massive session on the escalator setup, this event was nothing short of epic. See this is what skateboard contests are all about! It doesn't need to be this exact thing but this VIBE and approach to skating is what it's all about! Screw that SLS soulless bland nonsense.. I don't know why SLS has become the baseline skating event.. It's literally painful to watch.. It doesn't involve the core aspects of what makes skating so amazing.. I hope they improve that because this event here is so good and I hope we see a lot more stuff like this. I appreciate the video

Great that you liked the video man! We also prefer the open type of event compared to the strict by the book type of judging. But hey, for everyone there is some sort of event to watch or attend which is good in our opinion. Would be a weird world if everyone liked the same thing.

Is a realistic one. After watching this. Redbull just go against the grain on anything they put on. This brand is not about how nice your haircut is. Look what happened with Downhill Mountain bike racing.. Go the bull🔥

Terminal takeover is a cash rain, where most of it gets washed away. Last year barely any promotion for it. This year the same thing, and when you look at all the work that was done there, building so much stuff, pouring that much money in it, aand it’s 4 minutes of actual skating that comes out of it.

TBH this is exactly what I'd imagine a RedBull "extreme" event to be. Gimmicky. Not really impressive tricks. Lots of injuries. I'd rather watch Tom Penny do bs 5050s on a mini ramp

Why do this.. there is nothing inherently interesting about skating in an airport, and the fact that they had to fill it with a bunch of skatepark ramps and obstacles is an inherent admission of that fact. I know I'm just being a hater, but come on, this concept is stupid

If there’s an opportunity to skate an abandoned airport with a perfect ground and they have decided to make it into something skate able, why shouldn’t you?

@@Pimpedshrimp sure I would skate it but that doesn’t mean it’s something I think skate industry dollars should have invested in making happen. There have to be more interesting places with inherently interesting infrastructure to skate that would actually make it worth renting out as some big media event with pro skaters, there just nothing an airport has that isn’t or couldn’t be provided in any other setting
