A universal indicator made from cabbage changes color when acids (vinegar) and bases (ammonia) are added to it. This is a simple experiment that can be done at home with stuff you can buy at your local market.

Ammonia would be pretty hard to mistake for water due to the smell and misty vapors, but I guess it still is possible (especially now: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/arOElZuispqdm58.html)

4:12 I've found a lost LSD-25 pill under the couch and you just wouldn't imagine the range of colors it produces! o_O It can even measure pH over 9000!
