"I was walking out to my truck to go get some lunch when I saw this cardinal land on my mirror. When I got close enough to pet it, I decided to try. It worked and then I knew it was a God sent angel here for me when I needed one the most. It was my grandmas 35 year death anniversary to the day. I knew it was her from that moment, so I then tried to get it to perch on my finger and it took a wrong step and fell clinging onto the side of my truck. I shut the camera off and picked up the bird. I talked to it for a few seconds before saying, "It's time to go goodbye little birdie." and it flew away. This brought a lot of peace of mind to my family. Even though it was a male bird, we still knew who it was."

you should leave it alone, it is in a state of shock and slammed into the window cause birds see their reflection and think its a rival in their territory. It needs to stay still to calm down.

My cat got run over yesterday and my neighbor dug a grave and made a cross out of sticks for her. Today while looking out the back window, the sun shone on the cross and a cardinal landed on top of the cross watching its two chicks play bellow on the freshly turned soil. Made me tear up a bit but I know it was her saying she's okay now.

Yeah, not cute. Sad really. Bird is sick and/or injured. Just leave it alone and let Mother Nature do her thing. Humans often do more harm than good when it comes to our aviary friends. These little guys are so bad ass they decided not to be dinosaurs anymore. They’ll be fine, trust.
