Excellent. I have not been able to make a cast for a long time. I used a crucible from your Etsy. + my little smith torch with propane and oxygen. The second cast turned out better. Excellent system, greatly improves each cast because your system takes care of the ventilation issue the old method did not.

Trying to cast a ring I already wear, to practice my casting skills. Metal temp is a factor. Air flow is a factor. Too much heat to the metal + too much air flow and the metal will go thru the entire mold and pool under it. Casting is kinda hit and miss this month. The ring is a steel ring and the issue is a partial cast of 25% then 75% then 100% with defects in the metal. To correct the temperature of the metal use map pro fuel or keep the heat on a bit longer prior to pour. Will try again this week end.

Not sure what clay you’re using but could I use any clay to do this I’m in Canada and can’t find delft or greensand lol so thinking about using plaster or something

Red Clay is my brand which I import from a foundry near Holland. You need an oil bonded clay like Petrobond, Delft, or mine. There are some other ways using Portland cement and motor oil but I don't recall the mixture.
