If there is an enemy behind you, click right stick to look behind, then left trigger/l2 to aim and do an instant turnaround. Revolver 180 headshots while somebody sneaks up on you is endgame level stylish, cowpoke

@@710cs Well i mean in general it needs to be fixed as it leads to widely inconsistant gameplay and being able to do things that you shouldnt be able to do like locking on when aiming in a completely different direction but i wouldnt ever use the wide aim just as i refuse to use the varmint rifle

I just wish they would have seperate servers for free aim and auto aim like GTA online. I hate auto aim but I don't stand a chance against everyone else if I turn it off.

Another important thing to remember is to always have your gun cocked. It really takes some time before you are able to fire when it isn't cocked. To make sure of this, press the aim button once whenever you're out of combat. This will cock the gun, making sure you are ready to fire anytime. Or you can just press the trigger twice on each shot, but this doesn't work on some guns like the double-barrel.

Hey friend. First Person mode also increases accuracy and reduces "bloom" time. Reduces the draw time on the bow and allows you to move much faster without running or showing up on the minimap in PvP matches. First person is OP. It also increases the lock on range for all weapons. Adding scopes and rifling at the gun shops will also increase lock on range drastically. I tell you these secrets because you gave credit to that last guy so you're a good dude. Cheers!

I’ve been playing free aim for like 2 weeks thinking that it was putting me in a lobby with other free aim players. Now I know why I’ve been getting 2 kills per mission. Auto aim is broken in this game.

Auto aim is broken in any game wym lol. Its basically a legal aim bot. It is what it is tho as rockstar doesnt make games for competative scenes like rainbow 6 siege and shit. Its just a casual game to have fun.

I’ve got a tip as soon as you see red on the edge of your radar press down on the dpad to see where other player is. Also if someone’s shooting behind you click the right analog stick in turn quickly and then aim! Helps out massively

Another Tip, change the controllsettings to "fps" its only change X to l3 and reverse this way you can move(run) quick while aming. You can also change that you can push l3 ones for sprint and twice for fast sprint. You will have some funny up down up down moves while lerning the new controlls too, you will know what i mean

Thanks. just changed to wide and what a difference! Another tip for you. turn your controller layout to standard FPS. it switches the crouch and sprint. Then change sprint to toggle. this way you can tap the left stick to sprint easier than holding X or A and trying to shoot at the same time.

Alright so I shouldn’t be saying this but there’s a much better option in settings that you can turn on. Go to controls and turn tap assist to hold, this way when a tap sequence comes in a 1v1 you’ll always win. It might not work right if everyone uses it but as of now I’ve never come across someone who used it. So easy win for you!

Can you confirm if you've tested this and been winning? I'm wondering if there will be like a maximum tap speed for holding it, like a preset. So even if you have it on people could still tap faster. Just a thought. Dunno why they'd add the option to change it in the first place surely everyone will just put it to hold and then all taps would be evenly balanced and a 50/50 chance.

They should standardize lobbies to narrow and having the lock on weak. So at least 70% of the aim is you and not the game. Free aim would be too hard. If anyone disagrees try the narrow setting with one tick on lock on strength I think it's perfect

A tips video that actually helped. In story mode, I had aim assist on normal. But when I got in RDO, I was automatically equipped with free aim. I just figured that aim assist wouldn't be for online. Thank you for the video. I probably won't use the 'wide' setting, though; it seems a bit too powerful. I'll just stick with normal. At least that requires some effort...

I'm at rank 60 and in the treasure map you get for ranking up and extra reward is a special trickshot pamphlet. Now when I mark players in deadeye one bullet headshot kills all the players I marked it's amazing. It makes hunting really easy to , I just go into a field of bison mark them all and fire and one bullet kills nearly 10 bison etc all perfect 👍

So if you switch to Wide lock on it gets even more broken? Here I thought Normal was overpowered enough... The game just hands out headshots left and right, all you gotta do is know how to flick the analog stick upwards and fire. 90% of the time that will get you a headshot. No sweeping, no over correcting. The biggest fail you can manage is shooting off their hat without killing them. The lock on either needs to be heavily adjusted or just removed entirely but if R* did that then they'd have to fix their crap aiming controls. I have never played a console shooter with aiming controls this bad before. I will say this, I have never been this good at getting headshots before in any game besides this one...

Thx man, this guide completely explains some of the awkward situation I have experienced with RDO ( getting shot from someone behind cover where I cannot see them, kinda broken and unrealistic, and sometime I hit someone first and it only took the opponent 0.5 sec to hit me in the head)

Use the varmint rifle over the basic one, it's redicilously powerful, one hit kill headshots, faster firing, more accurate and holds more rounds before reloading which is also faster

@@Ajdolo2 Oh, its great. Seems shotguns are really good in this compared to GTA, where the fully auto shotty seemed to be the only decent shotty. But Pump is just a better option if you want to decide which is better overall for the long run. Just cheaper, pretty much identical stats and allows you another gun w the price difference if I remember the price correctly

The varmint rifle isn't even op the only redeeming quality of it is that it's accurate. You're only getting smoked because you're getting headshotted. It's not the rifle killing you it's the headshot = instakill mechanic. You could do the same exact thing with the bolt action and nobody complains about that. In fact people praise the bolt action. Just get good at pvp or learn to dive instead of cry because you're only getting killed by 1 particular gun.

I've always thought it was really weird that men create female characters. I for some reason seriously can't grasp the concept of being a guy playing as a girl.

Nothing weird about it at all... if you're going to be playing an online game with character creation hours and hours at a time, would you want to be staring at a male or female majority of the time? I'm a straight male and like pretty women so of course I'm gonna choose a female character over a male. I honestly find it weird that most men play as male characters, unless they're attracted to men (nothing wrong with that). It's something called preference. I think I speak for most guys who play as female characters.

Autoaim suck i understand they put that option in game for noobs or lowskill people but atleast should be only narrow, the worse is that for now free aim and autoaim are mixed in the same lobbies, i hope they put free aim lobbies soon feels like playing with a bunch of noobs and trash with helps or cheats, rockstar gotta fix this soon.

Wah Ho gta was a laughing stock with free aim. Just every lobby I got in was potato’s now imagine this game where their is not automatic guns lmao. People will be spending 5 minutes killing each other because all you would see is people diving, jumping and doing circles. Seems retarded and unrealistic. At least auto has some sort of realism because if you are caught in the open then you die instantly. I do agree it is very strong and can use some tweaks but rockstar games with free aim is laughable.

I stopped playing just for that. Even in story mode. They throw dozens of enemies at you from everywhere and the only way to overcome this is with auto aim. Nope.
