Yeah it’s funny because it’s inspired by the state(s) I live in, and I love my state and everything in it, but this area seems kinda plain to me imo.
@bearofthewoods123-85 жыл бұрын
@@Alex-ve3it Pretty sure New Hanover is Kansas. You're in Kansas? It's arguable but New Austin is definitely Texas. West Elizabeth is on top of New Austin therefore being Oklahoma and New Hanover is Kansas and the environment fits so..
@MrBobbyz245 жыл бұрын
@@bearofthewoods123-8 West Elizabeth has elements of California as well, Tall Trees represents the Redwood region of California. Each state in the game represents several real life states. Lemoyne isn't just Louisiana but the South East in general, there are definitely some elements from Mississippi and Alabama. Saint Denis seems more of a cross between New Orleans and Mobile than just purely New Orleans. New Hannover is Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, Oklahoma, and Roanoke is the the greater Appalachia region. Ambarino has elements of Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, and Utah. New Austin is Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona.
@bearofthewoods123-85 жыл бұрын
@@MrBobbyz24 I respect your opinion but I feel like each state wouldn't be like 10 states. That means Saint Denis would be at least in 4 states. Also on the wiki it states they are only 1 state but you're right that they did take some influence from other states.

Whats so amazing about the landscapes in RDR2......is just how incredibly accurate it all seems. Having lived all over the US, having explored and hiked in California, Utah, Wyoming, Colorado, Arizona, Texas, Louisiana, North & South Dakota...... I dare say, Americans rarely appreciate what a paradise this country is. You could NEVER leave, and you would have to live a lifetime just to see a fraction of the wonders that are here. Vacationing in New York, Orlando, LA, or Las Vegas.....NO, NO, NO......there is just so much to see. Thankfully, Rockstar has shared it with the world. I forget I’m on my way to a mission, or racing back to camp.....always distracted by a new hillside, a new valley, a new peak I haven’t noticed yet.....and I simply must check it out. I love this game, for entirely different reasons than I’ve ever loved a game before.

Red dead redemption 2 is a wonderful game made by the best talented passionate team Rockstar not only can they Animate anything realisticly they fit these with a mountain of animal species over a realistic world truly encompassing the term living breathing as everything does what it does in the real world basically very busy.Very important to note also that rockstar pride themselves in delivering this inmatchable openworld on relatively cheap hardware the base ps4 from 2013 incredibly we don't need to spend a thousand + for a visual treat.This will echo an eternity and should because they worked bloody hard

Thank you all very much for the overwhelming support of the first episode of The Five States. Your comments have been nothing but love and support. (DISCLAIMER) This documentary might not be completely scientifically accurate. I did what I could to provide a logical explaination as to the geology of the map of Red Dead Redemption 2. I've spent many hours researching, filming and feel that I have given a fairly sound reasoning as to why parts of the New Hanover state is shaped as it is. Also I apologise in advance if I have mis pronounced anything in this video, dyslexia can get the better of me sometimes. Thank you for taking the time out to watch this video. Annesburg is an old mining town so it surely isn’t appealing. That being said, the north of Annesburg, where you meet Charlotte and the legendary moose, is still very beautiful, that geological marvels dot their landscapes while maintaining the accuracy of stunning landforms of a common upstream.

Absolutely amazing work that focuses on the absolutely amazing detail and natural beauty of this game, unequalled by any (including Skyrim). If I may, though: I was kind of surprised you didn't take a different turn in the exploration of the caverns at Elysian Pool. The water there IS, in fact, poisonous, and the rust-colored stream is even called the Poisonous Trail in the various treasure quests contained within. There's lethal levels of arsenic and lead there that's killing the local wildlife and causing horrific mental and physical mutations in nearby Roanoke Ridge settlements. It's a prominent element in the storyline.

Hey dude - phenomenal video and work. It’s always awesome to be reminded how beautiful this game is and to really document that to other people by literally comparing it to a BBC documentary. My one thing - make sure you double check your cardinal directions in the game - The Heartlands are Southwest of the Elysian Pool - since it’s by Annesburg and Heartlands are out by Valentine and Rhodes. Unless that was a totally intentional thing - in which case trump onward you creative genius.

Another excellent video! And nice way to cover the fact that the water going through the cave is that colour because of toxic chemicals from a mining operation deeper in the cave system ;) As someone with a geology background, my impression is that the badlands of the Heartlands were more sandstone and siltstone than limestone. But if the Heartlands are meant to correlate to the Dakotas then you would have limestone in there as well I suppose. The silt cliffs above the Dakota River (and underlying the Great Plains in West Elizabeth) are very likely the remnant of a glacial lake that would have formed at the end of the Ice Age (i.e.: "Glacial Lake Flatiron" before it shrunk to its current size) as the glaciers retreated back into the Grizzlies. Sorry... None of this is meant as a criticism... I think it's incredible that Rockstar put so much work into RDR2 that we can even HAVE a serious discussion about it's geologic history! :D I'm looking forward to what you have to say about the red earth of Scarlett Meadows (such perfect nutrient rich soil for plantations!) and the Bayou Nwa/Kamassa River Delta!

Great work. I love the incorporation of the geology into the film. My only criticism was the the piece on the Elysian Pool. The color of the water flowing from the cave was due to acid mine drainage from the mining company nearby. The content of the water is high in metals and sulfide which causes the color to become brown. The pH of the water is very low (pH
