Only noticed this when I was messing around in the water until I realised that you can actually make a whirlpool in RDR2. I am amazed at how detailed this game is and how good the water is.

At these speeds and movement no splashes would come up, this is fairly realistic. It may benefit from a bit of bubbles under the surface, but nobody would notice.

the attention to detail has always been awesome in rockstars games. stuff most players wont notice exactly because they are so convincing. we know that if we stir water in real life, its gonna keep flowing in a vortex and for them to mimmick this so incredibly well and in such a smart way just shows how much the devs love what they do. it completely sells the illusion. im writing this in anticipation of how gta 6 might improve on what rdr2 already did with the water. i doubt we gonna have actual fluid simulations but considering fluid flux 2.0 is also just made with smart tricks instead of actual simulations, im confident that gta 6's water is gonna be the best looking water we have ever seen in a game.

@@alistaircraig7849 yes. The reason for the water looking like that because the water cannot detach in droplets. The only thing the water can do is ripple. It's using a wire frame, just like gta 5 and 4. The only difference is the wireframe is alot smaller than gta games, allowing for more detailed physics.

Modularity and freedom are making PC components costing much more than usual, remember that consoles constructors make contracts between them and tech makers, like AMD, to buy their components at lower prices, then custom them and do their things, add their "sauce" when they're making consoles, APU is a great exemple, and in the end, it costes way less than what it would have for a normal consumer making a PC, that's business I would say, and that's why consoles won't disappear so soon. Today consoles are seen as cheap PCs, for reasons I agree, but cheap PCs who are easy to use by anyone and who run all of your games great, and the much lower price you can get those compared to true PCs, it's just the ice on the cake for the kind of persons that are interested in that stuff, it's even more important to keep in mind that the next generation will be more than ever about gaming experience, much more things will be achievable on those new consoles with the new RDNA2 architecture instead of GCN one for the GPU, to say the least. I really doubt those new consoles will cost a lot, assuming the constructors don't want to reproduce the PS3 or Xbox One schemes that caused a lot of troubles back in time. We'll see, time will tell us anyway.
@rcrhino2148
@rcrhino2148 4 жыл бұрын
@@Anonymous-dg5je Not sure if you knew this but AMD is a much bigger company now. A lot bigger than ever before. They are not going to charge the same amount as the last generations. A company always wants a return in profit and there is a leak that the PS5 is using an rx 5700 at 2GHZ which would be cheap for sony but potentially killing the console due to it being at 2ghz. These consoles will have a new price tag on them this year because everything is going up in price no matter if playstation and xbox are getting a discount. Plus people would gladly spend little or more money to transfer to PC because the services both companies provide are rubbish. As a bonus not all consoles will have RDNA2. If they do well then its going to be even more expensive for both companies as they are getting the newest architecture, with better performance and better power draw than RDNA1. XBOX S X would have RDNA2 but PS5 will not because it will cost too much. And when you said the constructors dont want another PS3 or xbox one schemes it wouldn't matter cause this is the new gaming market of 2020 unless if AMD do something with their RDNA2 launch. PC gaming has only spiked in prices in the past 4 years and people are willing to pay that extra dollar for the extra performance or just to transfer over to PC. Just go look at NVIDIA RTX sales it tells you everything.
@Anonymous-dg5je
@Anonymous-dg5je 4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, but consoles and PC are just 2 different universes, what you pay as a normal consumer for your PC components cost way much than what entreprises do, when you're buying a PC you pay every components into it, each of those components get a money margin (Dunno if i'm writing it good, not good at english lul), you pay more than what it actually cost, that's normal on the market, and PC universe is aware of that. However with consoles it's different, it's a whole business for much limited money consumers, for exemple it has been already said that Sony's PS5 cost around 450 bucks to produce, the main problem comes from the fact Sony wants to release it for 399 bucks, which as been the reason of the PS4 success, and PS4 has tons of exclusives incoming, that's why they don't say anything about PS5 today, for them to the consumers it costs too much already, because they know consoles buyers can't pay more than 500 bucks for the main part, and they ain't wrong, Xbox One failed miserably because of it, not only thou, but well... Finding a good balance between price and power is not easy when you make the consoles your business, I won't say the contrary there, but there's other things I think we should look closer... What I want to mean is that, even for only 450 bucks, Sony seems able to give consumers a 9.2 Tflops machine with, supposely, RDNA2 Custom architecture for the GPU, Zen2 architecture for the CPU with a much better cadency, (which as been partialy confirmed by AMD themselves for the PS5 on their livestream conference 3 days ago if i'm not mistaking), and a great SSD for fast load times, I think Microsoft is not far from doing the same thing as they did with the ONE X and ONE S, rumers even talk about a whole new Series S machine, to be released alongside Series X, a console less expansive and less powerful, which would'nt be completely out of mind, assuming every consoles constructors want the lead on the price, I'm pretty sure you won't see extremely expansives consoles very soon honestly, even if, indeed, it actually could be the case here the way it looks, but I don't think so, I can't see Series X cost more than 500 bucks. But hey, maybe i'm wrong, that would be weird in that case, AMD, MS and Sony are long time parteners after all !
