I've been practicing with that exact revolver, and I do better with the revolver rather than my 365X with iron sights. I'm called weird because I don't care for optics on pistols. I'll take my Ruger LCR 22LR any day over my 365X. Just my opinion. Ruger = 3,000 rounds and counting...

with a short, light gun shooting 9mm you can't really get away from the snappiness, you could put a threaded barrel and comp on but you sacrifice comfort /conceal-ability and add weight/length. Just let the recoil happen and focus on your trigger press while letting the sights settle in between shots.

Definitely need snap caps or spent casings. Protect you firing pin.

Take both out to 50 yards and it'll become clear: A dot is way easier to use when shooting at distance. Now what distance that switches over at, I don't know. I've shot at 100 with and without a dot on a semi auto, and a dot is a massive improvement (at least 3x better). I've shot a groundhog at 60 with a snubby and it was difficult. After sighting in my new P365xl and dot (aka didn't learn the gun yet) I grouped 5 shots in the size of a quarter at 15 yards; after thousands of 22lr rounds my best snubby accuracy is a 2" circle at 10 yards. Snubby irons suck.

@@DWalter.27 I have no doubt that by the time we hit 50 yds, dots will matter, but since most of us won’t be shooting handguns out to that distance, and Rhett demonstrated that even out to 10 yds, dots font make an appreciable difference, have we just been suckered by the optics industry if dots don’t at least make the learning process easier?

Yep. That's weird. Although, when I was a kid, we would soak toothpicks in cinnamon oil and use them as a chew-toy. After a while, I must have gotten too much wood or cinnamon, as my throat got irritated.
