@@sanjicook08 Petty much every song you will hear nowadays is edited on a computer to a lesser or greater extent. What the fuck does 60% mean? Was 60% edited and 40% wasnt? Did they record more than half on digital microphones and then the last bit was done on a vinyl record? Is it the mixing? Can I drop the gain by 60% and hear the original. Obviously it's impossible to sing a triple harmony with yourself without some kind of compositing. If you don't know anything about music then pleeeeease refrain from broadcasting your ignorance.

this is ICONIC. I love how despite the reversed roles, you can tell that the characters are still the same. She looks considerably less freaked out than he was when their roles were reversed, because she’s still psycho and he’s still just weird. You can even see her smile at the end because her date IS a freak; they both are.

Things I've noticed : 1. in both versions the lady is still more musical than the guy 2. Their colors were switched 3. The guy still tries to get help from the waiter meanwhile the lady just stays in her seat

i love how, even though the roles are swapped, they're still in character (for what we've seen of them). since the woman was introduced in mixed messages as unnaturally ambivalent to the guy's shenanigans (dating him despite kicking her dog and ruining her dad's... chances at giving her any siblings) not to mention the menacing freak she was in red flags' original. so here, she isn't as disturbed as the guy was in red flags. while the guy, in the position of having to be the freaky one-like in mixed messages-just kinda. weird. like in mixed messages. i love these characters and i hope we see more of them in tom cardy's music videos

The funny thing is that for this sequence, the redhead is calm after the waiter leaves, implying that she's looking past the red flags. While in Red Flags prime video, when the waiter leaves Tom, you see him panic, him being unwilling to look past them until the redhead convinces him otherwise.

Edit: Send help, this has now become a new case of “what color is this dress”. Is it red? Maroon? Maroon 5? Burgundy? WHAT IS IT?! What I love about this: 1. The way she sings “no, thank you! I don’t wanna die!” itches my brain in a good way. 2. No one’s pointed this out (not that I’ve seen anyways), but in the original version of the song, the guy’s outfit is in black and gray, while the girl’s dress is… magenta? I think that’s the correct color, IDK, correct me on that. ANYWAYS, I love how their colors swap here. 3. The way her face CHANGES a second time after seeing how flexible this man is. Girlie has something in mind. 4. The french accents + the fact the waitresses just appear/disappear by sheer will. 5. If anyone’s seen the rough drafts vs. the final version. The eyelashes turning into clapping hands should’ve stayed IMO, but even if they didn’t stay in the final product, the animation/art style are beautiful. 6. “Ear juice” and “eye juice”. That’s all.

Absolutely agree! The waitresses are wonderful, and this video does just scratch something so unbelievably well, it's a joy. Other great moments: The last minute grimace from the main waitress is golden, exactly when she says "freak" - *chefs kiss* The way that she blinks on the beat of "morse code" makes me feel deeply satisfied The effects on Tom's voice make his lines so much stronger, going beyond creepy to interdimensional gremlin. Fantastic!
