I was watching a video from “The Acoustic Shoppe” whose owners are 3 brothers who are good bluegrass players. They were joined this time by Alan Munde, the banjo player, and at one point they started doing a medley of Red Haired Boy and GoldRush. They actually only completed Red Haired Boy and then moved onto something else. This is a medley of two tunes that I’ve recorded before. I’m working on some new stuff, but nothing is quite ready to go, so I’m redoing the Red Haired Boy/ Gold Rush Medley.
The guitar is the 1969 Martin D28 with Brazilian Rosewood back and sides that I got in 1970. I am using the Toneslabs pick that I got from The Acoustic Shoppe recently, two more are on the way.
I am playing both tunes in G position with the capo on the 2nd fret, so the actual key is A major, although Red Haired Boy is modal, with a lot of F Chords.
