Bit of a misunderstanding of that phrase, but, while I understand that the TikTok banning trend was going on during this time, if we really want to make this about the internet and not the social issues that actually have extended beyond the celebrity world, we need to stop making this about specific websites or apps and just acknowledge that the issues going on with TikTok are widely spread throughout the internet. Our private information is being taken from us and used for other people's gains because we are essentially deep in our need for instant satisfactions. The issue with TikTok, while real, is only being widely talked about because it's China, but not about us and our online safety. If it was, then net neutrality wouldn't have been an issue, laws passed to actually protect us from our information being essentially stolen wouldn't be an issue and our overall privacy wouldn't have to be fought for by means of legal actions (though too often narrowly focused) and personal actions by means of ad and cookie blockers. Don't make this about TikTok. Make this about the overall societal issues it was meant to be about.

So I had to look up what Alderaan means and boy is this a trip. Alderaan is the fictional home planet of Princess Leia from Star Wars. This planet was known for its peaceful culture and diversity. But it was ultimately destroyed by the Death Star at the hands of the evil Empire. Nirvana, RHCP, The Foo Fighters all our favorite bands from back in the day was trying to warn us, but we were to busy listening to the drums and guitars to really put any thought into their lyrics.

To the people saying this is just awesome lyrical content or it's beautiful to see it. No this is them realizing what they were told before and they hid it in their art because noone would care about the words just enjoy the song. Now it's finally coming out and people are realizing that they were warning the world 20 years ago in a way that wouldn't get them cancelled or killed. I'm not even a RHCP fan but this song along with so many others shows what knowledge is shared in the limelight.
