Red Hot Chili Peppers made the original version of Dani California back in the 1980s, but it didn’t really catch any attention. It wasn’t until the re-release on Stadium Arcadium in 2006 the song became a hit. The vocals sound suspiciously alike though, I wonder if they reused them...

I started this song up in the car for the very first time just as I was pulling out of a parking spot, and I literally didn't make it even a mile out before I literally had to stop the car, and pull over because I was just rolling over laughing in my seat so damn hard, and it would not have been safe for me to continue driving in my current state. I was honestly a bit skeptical going in, thinking it would be rather tricky to come up with something particularly clever to make this song work with an even more iconic 80's styling. Needless to say I was pleasantly surprised and even shocked at just how well you executed this remix, no really, I'm beyond impressed, you absolutely knocked this one out of the park. Hahahaha thank you so much! This is seriously the right way to start off the day! :) You are a beautiful soul, keep up the fine work! XD :D

Such an iconic album. You can actually hear how much influence RHCP had on Huey Lewis and the News, and if I recall correctly I think Huey Lewis hired Flea to help write a few songs for them. Oddly enough, this song didn’t become really popular until after “I Want A New Drug” was big, so a lot of people thought RCHP was stealing Huey Lewis and the News’ sound hahaha. One thing’s for certain, without this song Huey Lewis never would have gotten as big as they did.
