Pittsburgh crowd kinda sucks. If it wasn't on the radio they don't know it.

the cleveland crowd seemed worse. the people on the floor around me didnt seem to like anything that wasnt mainstream. the band barely spoke also. no banter. is there a story behind thst?

J DDess I'll explain their method usually. they either open with around the world or can't stop, that's a formula they've stuck to 95% of the tour. Now the concerts they don't play under the bridge they play soul to squeeze instead. soul to squeeze was a b-side from blood sugar sex magik because many felt it had too similar a vibe to under the bridge. little did they know under the bridge would be one of their top tier songs. they also didn't expect soul to squeeze to be as huge of a hit as it is especially being a bside. so they continue this. check out the setlist website you can see every tour and what song was played. they have been digging deeper in their discography due in large part to Josh being so versatile, he's exceptional playing John songs live he even sings falsetto similar to John, he can do the old hillel songs but Josh even got the peppers to play stuff from one hot minute also hitting that dave navarro sound. John didn't even listen to OHM and it was a rough time for John. so josh is really the best (in my opinion) hand picked replacement John was kind enough to slowy groom towards this. so people need to appreciate the subtle but extremely difficult things Josh does that we take for granted.

Billy Gibson great comment. a) by 2006 John had been playing live shows with this same band for around 15 years. you can't fake that time put in. You can't expect Josh to join and play at john's or beyond his level in less than 1/2 that time. b)listen to their first live version of don't forget me in 2001. It takes time even for the greats to pull a song seemingly flawlessly. c) On top of that they aren't songs he wrote. That makes it extra hard especially on the improv parts - like the solos to hey or scar tissue. But now it's been around 7 years and he's really hitting a new high.

Yeah, I was at this show too. The crowd was frickin' dead. If it's not the Steelers or Penguins I guess yinzers don't care. I don't know though, even for NHL crowds Pittsburgh isn't that loud in comparison to other teams.

Yeah, I wasn't planning on recording the entire thing but nobody in my section was standing or moving so I just sat down and joined the lameness. :/ That is why its a bit shakey at the start. I was standing trying to have a good time but people were being lame about it I guess because I am tall.

yeah i was there u r right... I was the only one in my section going nuts and I'm 55!
