@@AllOuttaBubblegum123 - nothing to be sorry about. I love this album and The Getaway. These Josh albums will never "out-do" the epic feats of BSSM, BTW, and SA, but they are very good. Just a testament to how good and relevant this band has stayed for so long. They are the Brady+Belichick of music. Swap out the defense or the receivers but if you keep AK's writing style and Flea's jams together it can still be gold.

I love this album. I love Josh in this band. I don't think alot of Frusciante fan boys give him the credit he deserves. Don't get me wrong, I really love John. But, I do like how well the band is performing these days. That "Basement tapes" recording of them playing all these songs live really made me like this album so much more.

Anyone else missing Josh even though you loved John and wanted him back too? I think Josh gave a fresh sound to the Peppers on I'm With You and then matured it on The Getaway. We'll miss you Mr. Klinghoffer.

This is one of my favorites songs by the Chilli Peppers and I’m so sad that now the chances of hearing it live are zero. I was really happy when John came back to the band but I’m still pissed by the fact that I’m With You and The Getaway are now in the shadows 💔

The Chili Peppers at their best in my opinion and I've been a fan since 1988. Josh was brilliant and brought a fresh guitar sound to the band. I'm a huge fan of their last two albums. You will be missed Josh

@@AllOuttaBubblegum123 too young to have been a fan as long as you, I became aware of them with Californication album, then back-listened. I like 1 or 2 things with Unlimited Love, but I concur I'm struggling too. Return of the Dream Canteen was a bomb, I think it's going to take 10+ listens to get into any of it. Tippa My Tongue was good, everything else is FLAT and out of character. I thought they should have tried another round of Danger Mouse as producer even with Frusciante in tow, since The Getaway is going to age REALLY well for them. Rubin is legend but I think a 3rd stint of Frusciante in the band has led to not being all that disciplined in exploring new ground. I think the longer the Josh songs are out there, the more people will realize how good the BAND was during that era.

I remember when this came out people were saying that the Chili Peppers were going pop. Lets see: A weird Sonic Youth noise rock intro, a Disco bassline in the chorus in 2011 when it wasnt cool yet to sound like the 70s or the 80s, a new-wavish zoboomafoo breakdown thing and an indie rock type ending. People dont know what they talking about...

It sound closer to pop than their previous works to me. It's awesome tho, every rhcp era has a different sound which is great to me (Hilel era was funk, then with frusciante it transitioned into more normal rock, and with stadium arcadium and Josh it started going with this pop sound). As long as I can listen to every part of the band I like it

I love the guitar intro! Kidding. The drums definitely are so amazing in this song, the way they filter in with all the other instruments and have the little solos. This is definitely the best drums I've heard, and I have a playlist of over 80 songs on spotify. Chad is amazing!

Greatest bassline in history. It's like Donna Summers in a storm of electric magic fire adorned with roses and consolation of the weary and disheartened. As your feet hover above the sand that settles atop the boardwalk, cool winds whisk you away and your cheeks are nevertheless met with balmy ocean mist. A perfect storm of musical violence and interpersonal peace

All the best Songs from I'm with You (including this one) are 1000 times better than the good ones (there aren't many to be honest) from Unlimited Love/Return of the Dream Canteen. Change my mind! I love Frusciante, but he doesn't deliver anymore.

I had this album on CD. I loved it but even then i was judging RHCP by the narrow window i'd been introduced to them by. It has been a true pleasure discovering the wide range, growth, treasures and classics. There's nothing like them

This song reminds me a bit of One Hot Minute, and that's my favorite album by them (I know, I'm weird). Always loved this song.

Antony Oliver It rocks hard and has some of their most meaningful personal material, I honestly don't see what's not to like! Also Dave Navarro is a fantastic guitarist, and Aeroplane proved that even though he usually writes heavier guitar parts, he could still play funky songs with them. Great album.

Ian Broughton Agreed. Just a fantastic album from start to finish. Almost everyone trashes Dave's time in the band but I actually think he made a great fit, and there was a lot of variety on that album because of him.
