Red Hot Chili Peppers is a rock band renowned for their hits “Californication,” “Otherside,” “Scar Tissue,” “Dani California,” “Can’t Stop,” “Snow (Hey Oh),” and “Dark Necessities.” They worked with artists like George Clinton, Eddie Vedder, and Elton John - amassing billions of global streams and inducted into the “Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.”
Lyrics:
I got a bad disease
Up from my brain is where I bleed
Insanity it seems
Has got me by my soul to squeeze
Well all the love from me
With all the dying trees I scream
The angels in my dreams, yeah
Have turned to demons of greed
That's mean
Where I go, I just don't know
I got to, got to, gotta take it slow
When I find my peace of mind
I'm gonna give you some of my good time
Today love smiled on me
It took away my pain, said please
I’ll let your ride be free
You gotta let it be
Oh yeah
Where I go, I just don't know
I got to, gotta, gotta take it slow
When I find my peace of mind
I'm gonna give you some of my good time
You're so polite indeed
Well I got everything I need
Oh make my days a breeze
And take away my self destruction
It's bitter baby and it's very sweet
A holy rollercoaster but I'm on my feet
Take me to the river, let me on your shore
Well, I'll be coming back baby, I'll be coming back for more
Doo doo doo doo dingle zing a dong bone
Ba-di ba-da ba-zumba crunga cong gone bad
I could not forget but I will not endeavour
Simple pleasures are much better, but I won’t regret it, never
Where I go, I just don't know
I got to, got to, gotta take it slow
When I find my peace of mind
I'm gonna give you some of my good time
Where I go I just don't know
I might end up somewhere in Mexico
When I find my peace of mind
I'm gonna keep it for the end of time

For me, this is THE RHCP song. It proudly showcases the entire band and has such a timeless groove it could appear on ANY of their albums and dominate. Such a gem.

This song alone will classify them as legends. This is their signature sound, vibe, groove, melody, etc. RHCP best song! Yes they have even better songs in musical value, but in personal connection, this one is the closest and deepest to me, it feels like these 4 musicians are giving me a group hug, best feeling when im at my worse state of mind😌😭😌😌❤️❤️❤️❤️.

Well... A ton of older people who are in there 50 and 60s now really love this group and they are more known for all types of other songs. This happens to be my favorite and is in my opinion the (prettiest/best) bass line ever. For instance Scar Tissue is a song with all of those attributes as well

That is John John Hayden sitting on the top of the old truck with Chad Smith, he was a very short guy. He passed away years ago from health problems because of his small size. We both went to the same elementary school circa 1972, in Glendale, CA. and we both ended up working for the Red Hot Chili Peppers in the late 80's-early 90's. He's loved and missed by all. John John Hayden God Speed to you.

+SWWonders I personally think there's more good music being made right now than ever! Of course it CAN'T be totally innovative in the same way caused by certain social explosions that were going on all the hell all over the place in certain times -people like the Beatles & Jimi Hendrix were great musicians and they stayed OPEN to change, but: it was pretty much accidental - and LUCKY - that they wandered into about four or five HUGE social upheavals, and they were good enough to plug into them. The weird part about FINDING the good stuff is first, you have to turn off your television and throw the radio into the bathtub - it's EXACTLY backwards of the old way. It really IS about recommendations, and digging through a whole lot of hay to get to the needle, IYKWIM.

LetThereBeLoud That's where I'd disagree, at least for know. It seems to me that there are still a few creaky old execs at the big record companies who're still waiting for "the good old days" to come back, and they think they can HELP that by fucking with all the people who are maneuvering OUTSIDE of their rules. You look at somebody like Joe Bonamassa, who couldn't care LESS about a "big record contract" but he's doing O.K. Because he won't sit, fetch and heel on command, it's VERY unlikely he'll place any songs into big Hollywood movies, win too many Grammys (no matter how LITTLE competition in the Blues category!) Even IF and WHEN the big companies realize they're just going to die if they don't pick up independent artists, they HATE not being in charge. Axl Rose must've been laughing his ass off at 'em.

My special needs child loves this song. He can’t talk or say a word. He is 11 but with this song he finds ways to communicate he wants it. He will not get out of the car before school until after I play this song. Today he was sitting and waiting for it and when it came on he started fist pumping. It’s awesome what RHCP’s music has done to help my child. I wonder if he understands the words and he can relate.

Had this played at my life partner of ten years funeral in July. He died of cancer unfortunately, but he went quickly rather than slowly which in some ways is a blessing. He loved RHCP so much and saw them at Hyde Park with John many many years ago (without me) and we saw them together with John at the Emirates Grounds, Manchester together and it was magical. I’m glad we got to share that together. His sister chose this song to played as the reflection music during his funeral and I thought it was a truly beautiful choice. I miss you so bad, Daniel. Take me to the river, let me to your shore. Well, I’ll be coming back baby, I’ll be coming back for more. ❤ see you someday my lovely man.

cheers to Anthony Kiedis' father! when I was 16 (22 years ago) I was stuck in a group home, and had nothing but books and music to occupy my time. I wrote a letter to RHCP telling them my story and How much their music meant to me, I got a 2 page response! it was a very heartfelt letter that I still cherish. he even included a signed picture of Flea, as I had mentioned I loved his bass. that was a tough time for me, and Mr. Kiedis really brightened my day, and he didn't have to. thank you again sir. *****October 2018, please send a constant positive vibe Blackie's way, he is very ill from what I understand. I got a bad disease Out from my brain is where I bleed Insanity it seems Has got me by my soul to squeeze With all the love from me With all the dyin' trees, I scream The angels in my dream, yeah Had turned to demons of greed, that's mean Where I go, I just don't know I got to, got to, gotta take it slow When I find my peace of mind I'm gonna give you some of my good time Today love smiled on me He took away my pain, said, "Please" "I'll let your ride be free" "You gotta let it be, oh, yeah" Where I go, I just don't know I got to, gotta, gotta take it slow When I find my peace of mind I'm gonna give ya some of my good time Yeah! Oh, so polite indeed Well, I got everything I need I'll make my days a breeze And take away my self-destruction It's bitter baby and it's very sweet Holy rollercoaster, but I'm on my feet Take me to the river, let me on your shore I'll be comin' back maybe, I'll be comin' back for more Doo-doo dingle zing a dong bone Ba-di ba-da ba-zumba crunga cong gone bad I could not forget, but I will not endeavor Simple pleasures are much better but I won't regret it never Where I go, I just don't know I got to, got to, gotta take it slow When I find my peace of mind I'm gonna give you some of my good time Where I go, I just don't know I might end up somewhere in Mexico When I find my peace of mind I'm gonna keep ya for the end of time

Ya too bad my friends don't like rhcp because they are idiots and rather listen to garbage. Not many people appreciate rhcp like they should. Only the people that understand music care for them. There is reason u rarely see bands covering them. It's because they are outstanding musicians and it's hard as fuck to cover.

Is it just me or every time a song by the RHCP automatically puts you is a certain type of good nostalgic mood.. they are amazing and relevant and no matter how old or new the song is so many can relate to them. True artists.

I love the subtle _"Vertigo_ shot" at ~2:35, making the background "move away", seeming to retreat behind the water-tank in the foreground of the shot. Never noticed that before.

This is funny, because Mother's Milk came out in 1989. So if you're in your mid 60s you would have been in your 30s which would have been a perfectly reasonable age to listen to RHCP during their prime in the 90s.

That "YEAH" right before the solo is the most cathartic, soul cleansing, inner self shocking sound/cry I've heard in my entire life. Oddly serene, raw, yet devastating. It breaks me down, tears me apart and brings me to tears every time. Just riveting.
