Some company bought the IP of red lobster. Then sold the buildings as a franchiser. Then kept the land those buildings were on. Then kept jacking up the price over and over until they can't pay the rent no more. Then declared bankruptcy, is selling the brand and leaving poor suckers dumb enough to buy the red lobster and the buildings. They still own the land.

As for the pies, they do put it in a freezer the day before. The next day, they put it in the fridge and then microwave it before it’s served to you. I use to work there and couldn’t believe they did that to those poor pie. I got lots of complaints from customers saying they didn’t like the pies very much. I wonder why?😅

My mom and I got takeout from Red Lobster the other day, and those biscuits were so dry I drove over to Popeye's and said "Try this shit", and the manager apologized on behalf of the Red Lobster employees. Like he was offended FOR ME. He said even they wouldn't do me like that, and I got a couple biscuits while I was there too, it was like they threw it in a bottle of water before giving it to me compared to that abomination from the lobster.

I went last Saturday. I had those biscuits and some shrimpy pasta. The watermelon lemonade was pretty sweet and yummy. Flavor Flav bought every single dish where he is. He put the pics up on Twitter/X. It's the end of an era. Private equity sucks, yo.

Went there for the first and probably the last time last November in Florida. Went there with good company, our waiter showed us southern hospitality and gave us double orders of endless shrimp for the price of one. Biscuits were🔥, ambience was classy but casual. I'm glad I went under the best circumstances.

There are a few factors but the biggest is the company that bought them out, sold all their land to a sister company then leased it back to Red Lobster at much higher rates.

I passed by the Red Lobster restaurant near me today, and the parking lot was packed. The restaurant looked a bit run down and the grass looked overgrown, as if it hadn't been mowed this spring. It's possible Red Lobster has already given up.

I used to make the cheffar bay buscuits. 22 yrs ago and i still make that recipe lol The buscuits now are small, which is why their so dry. Probably premade once a week then heated up too.

I heard that the financial issues for the company wasn’t exactly the shrimp special. It’s that the parent company sold the land RL stores owned and agreed to lease the same land back the same sold property at a higher price.

The problem isn’t necessarily the quality of the food. It’s They’re Servers!!! Or Lack there of! Whenever I go, There’s always Hella empty tables but yet it seems like they can never sit your party down. They act like it’s impossible to seat you at one of there 100s of Empty tables. The Gate Keeping is so real. Not even worth the wait times/headache

They’re not closing all of the locations. They’ve filed for chapter 11 but certain locations will still be open. They sent out emails a few weeks ago to customers who are subscribed to their red lobster rewards program.

If ever in Pensacola Florida should try four winds deli. They got a good turkey salad sub. And all the circle K have good breakfast and fried chicken.

From what I understand they were played from within. Back when, they sold off the land the stores were sitting on to another company owned by the same parent corporation. The stores (who had owned their property previously) now had to pay rent to this other company. Which they couldn't do. So they're shutting down because they can't afford to pay for the land they operate on to a company their parent company also owns. It would be like YUM! brands buying all the properties that their Pizza Huts, Taco Bells and KFCs sit on, shunting that over to a different company they own and charging an overpriced lease for them to operate on that land the new company owns. Then when the stores start defaulting on their leases as they can't afford the rent they start closing the stores down and forcing them into bankruptcy then saying "Aw, man, it was the stores' fault!"
